Pearson

Yes but what can't be debated is Pearson brought most of these players, Installed the team spirit which served us so well, also acquired the sports science team that did so well. So yes he built the team that won the league it was just someone else at the helm when we won it. Without Pearson we wouldn't of won the league and that's a fact.
Can you name one training session, never mind a game, where Nigel Pearson dealt with the entire 2015/16 title winning squad?

The fact is he wasn't here when we won the League forget the quorum of players
Signed it's the same with any team people come and go, playing style tactics picking a team for individual matches is down to the manager of the day and his team
FFS talk a bit of sense

that simply isn't true.
Almost I said trying to work so typing error, just can’t believe this crap is coming up here after all this time.
Wouldn’t have won it without Claudio or Pearson.
Both Claudio and Pearson have been sacked countless times after but it’s what happened here that matters.
All this point scoring , it’s been fine to death this debate.

3 is a lot out of 11, so almost every player that won the league was signed by Pearson and you say he deserves no credit.
What wrong with people, fucking unreal 😂😂
I don’t especially like him but it’s just a fact you can’t fucking debate it
By that logic, it was Holloway's team that won Div One at a canter. Should've kept him.

Comedy gold this thread everyone picking bits out to suit their own agenda and try and act like they are totally right.
Both Claudio and Nigel both played a part.

One of most important things regarding the title was Walsh talking Ranieri into buying Kante because he didn’t want him another fact that is.
I’m not knocking Claudio btw absolutely love the bloke and he took him in the end but they all deserve credit

that simply isn't true.
All the players were signed by Pearson including Kante, Okazaki and Fuchs. The only thing was that CR needed convincing to carry on the signing process of Kante. CR admitted himself he didn't change much regarding the team because they all already knew their jobs in the team. What CR did offer that Pearson was stardust when handling the media.

Ahhhhh so the media won is the league because he was cheese to NFP'S chalk?

Kasper was signed by Sven but nearly all were signed under Pearson and let’s not forget without Nigel we’d not have had Steve Walsh

Don’t be stupid I didn’t especially like his interviews and his arrogance but it was his team that won the league what part of that didn’t you understand?
Ranieri did good job as well obviously but he must take credit for building the team.
No, he doesn’t and no it wasn’t. Never in a million years.
We played nothing like “his” team. The football was light years away from anything he could produce.
You really should take more water with your drink!

Remember Pearson had already been sacked before Kante was signed, due to the shocking lack of discipline of his squad on the end of season visit to Thailand.

Claudio himself admitted he never changed much when he came in and that was fantastic management from him he seen how they were set up and carried on from the previous year.
Obviously with Kante coming in who Walsh had lined up this took up to another level but the foundations were set.
Like I say I didn’t like the arrogance of Pearson the bullying etc but you can’t argue with the facts.
Thought I’d heard the last of debating about Pearson on here it’s been done to death now surely

Au contraire. Have you skipped the explanations above as to why Pearson should get minimal credit for the title win? This was the bloke who was signing players he didn't pick, apparently couldn't motivate, seemed not to understand, and appeared not to know how best to use. It is widely claimed that Cambiasso saved his neck in 2014/15. Adumass sets the record straight for 2015/16.

Not according to What Vardy said in his book the or do you know more about it that him.
Can you lot not talk about anything else but Pearson?
Must have been endless threads over the years same old thing over and over again ffs move on

Agree but before moving on he deserves a balanced obituary.
In my view he was an awkward, cussed so and so with atrocious PR but on balance made a significant positive contribution to the history of our club.
When he first took over we were rock bottom but he got us straight out of League 1. We then overachived in the Championship reaching an unexpected play-off.
Not sure why he left the first time. Rumour was that Mandaric thought a higher profile foreign manager would be more attractive to potential buyers.
When he came back he had to get rid of Sven's dross which he did building a decent team and winning the Championship in some style.
We should never have been bottom of the PL for so long and he was at fault for that. Eventually he stumbled on a winning formula and the players were magnificent for him in the Great Escape.
Then he got sacked and if it was for trying to defend the indefensible he deserved it but that was NP. Inflexible.
So a mixed bag but on balance I think he deserves more recognition than vilification.
RIP

The credit goes to the players, all hard working guys, guys who wanted to be something better than what they were at that point in their career. They weren't satisfied with what they'd done. The manager almost becomes irrelevant.
Pearson will be Pearson, wherever he goes.

At last someone talking sense on here it’s all I’m saying really is he deserves some credit even though he was a funny
Buggar and a car crash with the media we all know that.

i'll meet you in the middle adders.

i'll happily give him full credit for turning the ship around after relegation and winning league one - he was exactly what we wanted at that time.
i'll give him credit for clearing out svens purchases and romping the championship (especially the re-group after kermogants penalty, i could easily imagine a damp season after that).
i'll give him considerably much less credit for the great escape (the squads proven potential means we should never have been in that position), and i'll give him zero credit for the title win.

In all the buckin posts I think one mentions the Great Escape
The very fact we had to perform it tells you all you need to know abiut the bucker.
A team containing many players good enough to win the PL and he nearly got them relegated.
He's like Mick McCarthy a buckin average Championship manager

Ranieri scored the goal, by rounding several players and smashing the ball into the top corner of the net. Pearson got an assist.

Gerry all people are saying us he deserves some recognition for his part, nobody is saying he’s a super manager or anything like that but under him we got Walsh and shaky and all the sports science team.
I don’t know why people keep starting daft threads on here about Pearson especially now everything has been said.
You answer me one question without Pearson coming in and bringing in who he did do you think we would have won the league a straight yes or no?

I’ve never heard such a pile of shit in my entire life. As if Pearson had significant input in any of those signings. Managers don’t sign players these days and haven’t for a very long time. We have a sophisticated scouting set up and a DOF.
As for the rewriting of history to try and give Pearson credit for the title win I’ll keep quiet on that matter.
