i read something about this at the weekend - it said that there is a 30% fatality rate for recent transplant recipients who catch covid...reason being you are fed immu-suppressant drugs as part of the procedure to ensure your body accepts the organ. means you are at huge risk from any bug.

its been standard procedure for decades to make sure recipients are vaccinated (measles etc) before receiving a transplant, its nothing new.
