In these difficult times, I will try to send this message of friendship, openess and invitation to all.
Let us try to have one thread in which there will be no arguing.
Let us not try to find common ground.
Let us just be kind to one another here.

I'm not religious, but I'm not anti-religion either - can anyone explain why for the first time in history, western "democratic" (ah ah) countries are closing down religion. Arresting, street preachers and not allowing church goers to go to church. If your one of the idiots on here, please don't bother making further fools of yourselves, this question is for normal people not freaks.

I believe it's because a group of people want you to live without hope; without peace; but always in fear.
Perhaps we see also, that there are many others who are lured in by this 'negativity' and wish to join in with it, cheering others on as they do harm to others. This may give these cowards a sense of security in the sort term.
The ultimate aim is evil.

Seems that some of us have differing opinions on who that group is. I’ve always thought that religion was fear based, do as we tell you or you’ll burn in hell.

Not if you repent before you death. Up to heaven you go if you say sorry for noncing and murdering children.

Just about anything can be fear-based. Getting out of bed and crossing the road can be fearful for many. Life is full of risk. It is true that there is a fearful element to faith. It's also true that many people emphasise that fear too much and ignore the true contentment.

That is a difficult one. You are right about forgiveness. And a life without it would be intolerable. Personally though, I wonder if there is a limit to what can be forgiven. It's hard to imagine a Hitler being forgiven, even if it is possible.
