Millwall match thread

I still can’t believe what I was seeing at Millwall away last time. Chilwell too scared to take a throw in, in front of their fans. Glad he didn’t stick around the coward.

I’m a touch concerned that with their neanderthal fans baying for blood, a few of their more agricultural players might go diving in. Let’s hope we don’t pick any more injuries up

Anyone here that was present for the match in 94 when Hurlock was sent off after 5 minutes, Daisy followed not long after & then Neil Lewis thought he’d been sent off too, only to sheepishly realise afterwards that he hadn’t?!

Yes, Sunday afternoon 0-0

Gavin Ward
Colin Hill
Mike Whitlow
Brian Carey
Gary Coatsworth
Neil Lewis
Steve Agnew
David Oldfield
Ian Ormondroyd
Iwan Roberts
David Speedie

Subs
Colin Gibson
Julian Joachim

Apart from Lewis and Oldfield, the rest of the team could look after themselves

Remember the 91 Rambo sending off cup tie at the Den... walking towards the general direction of the ground about 1.30, 4 of us no colours whatsoever. Young woman with pushchair emerges from paper shop over the road, takes one look and shouts over "fackin Lessta cants". We kept walking...

Walsh as well, remember never being more relieved when they scored the winner late on

Pat Van Den Howe (probably spelled wrong) was a wrong un. Remember him that day.

Yep I was at that one.

Millwall players wanted payback for us showboating when bearing them 4-0 at Filbo earlier in the season.

Wasnt there a New Year trip there too around that time
Yes a new years day game , think it was either 89/90 , lost 1-0 think it was a late morning ko
me & a mate went down on the national express , we counted 30 in the away end , got a lift back on the supporters club coach
could see them clocking us & didnt want to be wandering round that shithole after

In recent years, there have been two New Year’s Day away trips.
1988, lost 1 - 0 and 1996 drew 1 - 1
Went to the 96 game with our friendly landlord.
Stayed the night before at the old pub he used to run ( Stick and Weasel ) on the City Road.
Definitely a night and day to remember.
There has also been two Boxing Day games , 1990 and 2005.

I think we also played them on New Year's Day 2014, in the title winning season. Grim, sleety day, but a comfortable 3-1 win - Knockaert, the immortal GTF, and Sir Jeffrey of Schlupp. That certainly made up for '85, which was the most scared I have ever been in and around a football ground

We did indeed, I was only referencing the “bad old days”
