Would We Be Better Off If. . . .

Nah. Just a bumbling idiot in charge of a set of self obsessed incompetents. Give them their due, they are way ahead of most European countries in vaccine roll out (but still haven’t done my 90 year old mum in her home).

Boris had snuffed it while he was in hospital with the covid?
Would have saved thousands of lives.
I guess that rather depends on who the 50,000 Conservative party members voted for as his replacement. Pritti Patel is supposed to be quite popular!

Given that the reins of power would have transferred to Dom "I didn't realize Dover was an important port" Raab - a man so pathetically useless he makes Chris Grayling look almost viable; I was rooting for Johnson to pull through.

Sadly the only decent or talented people in The Tory party were kicked out by Cummings . We are left with the UKIP wing and unsurprisingly the country has got exactly what it voted for .
The future is bleak .
There is no one in the current cabinet who is likely to improve things .

Re my earlier statement - can I just emphasize the point that I said he made Grayling look ALMOST viable.

Not Viable.

Almost.

Clearly with the possible exceptions of Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean and the man who invented the chocolate teapot, Chris Grayling is the man least suited to a job that involves making decisions that involve a budget measured in pounds rather than just pence, in the whole world.

Sorry.

Just wanted to make sure that point was clear.

Chris Grayling was, is and will always be, an utterly useless cunt.

Grayling did tell the Yorkshire bastards to fuck off and let Leicester rightfully re-bury its King.

Which led to us winning the Premier League.

Other than that though, he's a twat.

Sixthswan us Yorkshire bastards have now plummeted to National League North. Sorry to carp on but I can't help wondering if Eggs66 is once again fishing for puns with all this talk of Grayling.

It's the hedgehogs I feel sorry for

That also was the will of Richard III. You did chop his dads head off...

Had Corbyn been in charge with 100000 dead, do we think that the BBC and majority of the press would have covered it by effectively reporting “the PM is a bit sad” ?

Here’s the thing. The Labour Party might move forward if they deal with the world as it is rather than the world they wish it was. Too many go on about how unfair it is. Short of revolution they need to work out how to win using present rules and then use the opportunity to make changes.

If they want to continue with the world as it is they might as well call themselves Conservatives. What have the rules got to do with it? they aren't trying to get around them. If they moved even more to the centre they wouldn't be Labour. If they did it just to gain votes and win and did the complete opposite they would be pilloried, and rightfully so.

A nice bit of wilful misinterpretation, which is disappointing as I suspect we are both after similar outcomes. Foxgolfer's post was about right wing bias in the media. That isn't go to change - in fact it's likely going to increase. Whining that its not fair isn't going to change that and the Conservatives aren't going to do anything - so thems the rules of the game - Labour has to compete with that handicap. There are ways - but complaining that the other side are "cheating" won't change anything.

Trouble is all elected parties tell lies before, after, and during there terms of office, election time is just like putting your hands in a fire you always get burnt
Because no party will show their hands
It would'nt be politics if they did it's the dirtiest most underhand occupation there is, and we are governed by the corrupted
organisation of it all

Narcissists like Johnson employ people less clever than themselves because they're incredibly insecure, so he set a low bar for cabinet jobs.
There isn't enough collective brainpower in the cabinet to light a 1 watt bulb.
As for the Tory faithful who would've ended up voting between two pro-brexit dimwits it was lose-lose.
In summary, i'm not sure which pro brexit Tory would've done a better job. I'm sure somebody like kenneth clarke would've had a cabinet with much better pedigree, but he was ardently pro-europe so was never going to get the gig.
The gene pool therefore was very limited.

Close Bill - but I think the headline was actually "Williamson Put in Shit in his Kecks"....a self-inflicted wound.

And he's another clueless buffoon.

And Liz "I am opening up cheese-markets" Truss.

Where do they find these creatures? They are all the sort of self-important, clueless sad acts that are normally cannon fodder for things like Britain's Got Talent.

You know things are bad when you find yourself longing for the political heavyweight days of John Major....and start to miss the salad days of Theresa "fields of wheat" May.

There’s no guarantees the situation would have been better, there’s every chance it could have been worse.

Same with the last election, who’s to say Labour would have made fewer mistakes had they beaten the Conservatives into power?

We won’t know the real fallout of this for a good few years. Economically speaking, maybe we’ll find that Boris has got it spot on when we emerge from this doom and gloom? Maybe the way he’s handled the vaccination programme means we’ll be back up and running again far quicker than many other countries?

Time will tell.

We need to change the voting system as its unfair and biased towards the tories thousands of peoples votes don't count so its a disincentive to vote. Germany has PR and does OK?

How is it biased towards the Tories?

The Labour Party get more seats than the Tories for the same number of voters, currently that have an advantage of around 15 seats in a general election.

I assume you have a source for that?

Very reasonable points there time for You to get back on the main forum posting about football 😉

Are you really as stupid as you appear? Anyway the good news is that the Boundary Commission have addressed it. So, Labour can hoover up the postal votes in Tower Hamlets et al as much as they want but there are are going to be less seat to steal. Sadly they haven't addressed the Scottish issue

The Boundary Commission Report was due to be implemented some time ago, 2010 I think.

Strangely the tories included a reduction in the number of constituencies from 650 to 600 in their re-organisation plans but much to everyones surprise the MPs did not much like that idea. Still more or less in limbo.
