Why Is The Covid Infection Rate So High?

Workplaces warehouses where there’s no distancing and cheap labour traveling in is the excuse round here.

Saw something yesterday that showed it was high right the way across Leicestershire. Made no difference what the makeup of the local population was.
Was it correct?

Well according to some eminent Professor from Warwick Uni this morning on t radio the city of Leicester has high population density multi generational housing and low vaccine uptake....didn't point the finger at the Asian population directly but might as well have done

the lateral flow test is better than no test, but very prone to false positives, if you get a positive result you have to get the proper full test to confirm it!
My daughter works in the NHS as a midwife they are told to only do lateral flow test when on annual
leave (if at All!) because of the impact these false positives would have on staffing ,as the full test would have to be done to confirm the positive result.
Lateral flow is the cheaper quicker alternative test but comes with approx. 70 % accuracy.

I've only known it to give false positives, but false negatives are also possible, if you get a test in a testing Centre i would advise you clean surfaces yourself before taking the test, as you have to rely on the cleanliness of people before you.

Work in an asymptomatic testing centre where everything is sanitized between customers. If the staff are trained properly and experienced and the customers perform the tests as instructed I think its about 70% likely to pick up a positive but the guidance given is that it only works with regular testing (every 3 to 4 days). A lot of the false positives are due to misreading results interpreting shadows as a second line but the vast majority of these will disappear if using the flash facility when photographing the result.
