For me it was 1964. After 13 years of Tory rule up steps Harold Wilson.
Me and my Dad sat up for hours. It was neck and neck.
No exit poll in those days.
It was so faacking exciting.
Harold eventually won by 4 seats.
I was 16.
Brilliant night.

the exit poll does rather ruin the suspense. so i'll be heading to bed instead.

just hoping rees mogg gets dumped.

And Woodrow Wyatt held his Hinckley and Bosworth seat for Labour (1959-1970). It’s been Conservative for 54 years ever since. Sadly not likely to change this election either.
Not your typical Labour man was old Woodrow. Educated at Eastbourne College and Oxford. 4 wives. 3 children,
Pericles Plantagenet James Casati Wyatt
Petronella Aspasia Wyatt
Veronica Wyatt
Often times threatened with expulsion from the Labour Party for “anti working class activities”.
Chairman of the Horse Racing Tote 1976-1997.

…….landed on the beaches on D Day+1 as a Major with the Suffolk Regiment. Very nearly court-martialled after an “acrimonious exchange” with one of his senior officers and subsequently posted to India.
Knighted in 1983 and created a life peerage in 1987 as Baron Wyatt of Weeford.
He always seemed to have a “strong aversion” to Trade Unions.
One of life’s “political Mavericks”!

C4 had Nadine Dorries on, Alistair Campbell wound her up so much that they’ve sent her off for a lie down.

…..Adam Butler (Con) 1970-1987.
David “cash for questions” Tredinnick (Con) 1987-2019.
In the MP’s expenses scandal he was claiming £7000 a quarter for his mortgage on a £2million mansion near Parliament.
Also claimed £125 in his MP office allowance expenses for a course on “intimate relationships” ( nipping out to the nearest “rub & tug shop” at the taxpayers expense???).
Dr Luke Evans (Con) since 2019.

Rees mogg was magnanimous.
Truss the opposite, like a spoilt kid she had to be cajoled onto the stage and was slow handicapped at one point.
She then has the temerity to blame all her woes on the last Labour government.
A truly odious woman.
None of that surprises me,
I’ll YouTube this later.

News from the Republic of Quorn: Loughborough kick out the Boris-loving chocolate teapot Jane Hunt (it's rhyming slang don't yer know) and overturn a 7,000 majority to win by almost 5,000 votes. Huzzah!
