It depends what you.mean by east and west. (I'm sure I'll go with the west with your answer.)

The op was posted by someone with western values. He can tell me I'm wrong if he wants. I think most of us have those western values ingrained in us.

The tactic of the state to go after individuals with their shadowy police force, I think goes against western values. The same goes for that same agency setting up a false criminal investigation against one politician, to make sure the regime doesn't lose power. All done with the hysterical and loud help of the media.

The op is about the hypocrisy of pointing the finger at other states that aren't part of the west, while doing the same things that you criticise them for.
