Watneys Party Seven

Shyte beer, but had it`s uses. I remember one time...a crowd of us were on our way to a party...changing trains at Oxford Circus. It was 77/78...when Forest had those couple of league cup finals.
We literally, bumped into a mob of forest lads. They seemed pretty pleased with themselves. How it started ,I don`t know..as there were only a couple of us from Leicester...the rest were Londoners and weren`t really bothered about footie.
A broadside of party sevens soon sorted them out.A couple of Forest boys took `em full in the mush from almost point blank range.Even the girls with us were putting the boot in...happy days.

The "Beer at home means Davenports" was a regular advert on ATV just before Star Soccer on a Sunday at 2p.m.(?)
Remember sitting with my pack of Toffos watching it waiting for the late great Hugh Johns to utter those immortal words "Let's have a look at the teams" as they came across the screen diagonally.
Bowden.....
I used to play football Sunday mornings, 1-2 pints after the game then back home for Mum's Sunday Roast
Star Soccer with Hugh Johns, loads of chocolate, then often a war-movie immediately afterwards....... what a day those English Sunday's were!
The TV ad had a slightly rotund 'gentleman brewer' dressed in cardigan, look straight into the camera, raise his glass and say "Cheeeers"
