Watford thread

We will get pressed quicker in the prem.
However it's working at the moment.
The only other option is to let the keeper boot it from goal kicks, then people will be moaning that we don't win enough headers on the half way line & why does he keep booting it.
2nd goal today was brilliant, we literally played thru their press at pace by pissing about.

There's a middle way, mixing it up, that removes the need to piss about when being pressed – without resorting to hoofing it into touch.
Dogmatic adhesion to one idea is what frustrates me, and that stupid claiming that quick exciting goals aren't what we want. Or did I miss some very rare humour?

It's ok to piss about with it a bit, but surely you've got to vary it to keep the oppo on their toes.

Personally just relieved to win today.

Leeds and Saints looked nailed on for home wins, so we have negotiated 2 away games without losing any ground.
Ipswich, our closest opponent for most of the season look like they are struggling under the pressure of Leeds and Southampton.
Another game nearer the No1 priority for the season.

This system works in this division as the opposition isn't good enough or fit enough. We also have the players to play it.
Winks made 1 bad mistake today, without that the system has strolled to an easy win.
Whether it works next season we'll have to wait and see.
Enjoy what's left of this season gents.
We are going up.

Posted this in the wrong thread initially, but just to say you can watch the Football League show on ITV 4 at 9pm instead of the usual later slot on ITV.
Watford v City is one of the feature games.

Our keeper this season has chosen to pass a ball out to a winks/ pereira etc when said players have had a opposing player acting as a rucksack & in the main we’ve luckily got away with it.
This was not one of those times, it was pure & simply a terrible touch by winks. A routine pass he’s done back 100’s of times already this season.

Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, the closer it happens to you own goal the more chance of it being expensive and of course the more times you do it means the opposition knows what to expect
