Any memory’s I was working in Worcester only 16 got the coach to Brum think I must have walked then to villa park remember loads of pissed up scousers in some pub near the ground chucking bottles into the street paid to get into the wrong end which is the Doug Ellis stand now think it was a massive open end ? Didn’t fancy it at all in there got to the front asked the coppers if I could go opposite end he said go lad so down the side of the pitch as the holte end sung Lei-ces-ter Leicester are the best gutted at the result couldn’t get a coach back lost my money at the game had to hitchhike back to Worcester got to my digs 3.00 in the morning Seems so long ago ! UTC

Stood next to Roger Chapman and Rob Townsend about three quarters up the Holte End until Glover scored. A small park nearby was full of City fans after Liverpool in the distance could hear glass breaking

As it happens Micky - my daughter is friends with Rob Townsend's son, Danny.
He lives down in Whitstable.
He's a big City fan.
We watched the Sevilla away game with him in the The Ship boozer in Whitstable a few years back.

Thet had a big banner held up with 2x2 poles

They had battered us at OT. Waters had a poor game then and I think we played String as the Birch was still injured. They scored first, when Lenny equalised it was complete bedlam, we were in the Holte End. I think it was the only goal they conceded in the tournament. We looked like the only winners for the next ten minutes but then the Keegan Toshack show got going. I had to drive back to Manchester where I was living at the time. Keele Sevices was horrid, full of pissed up Scallies. There was a bad car crash on the M6, I think four of their fans were killed. Those ten minutes were probably the high point of the Bloomfield side, after Luton and QPR we really thought it was our year to win the Cup. Is it really nearly half a century ago ? It would be nice to lay some of those bad memories to rest this year.

Anyone know the Leicester fan who broke his leg dropping from the Aston Expressway?
Our mini bus stopped in the garden of the Postal Management College just off junction 1 of the M6. Piss stop and harvested a crop of Daffodils. Flowers in empty beer cans were given to female City fans in the next lane as we inched our way Northwards. Running late we jumped off bus on Aston Expressway telling our driver to go park over there somewhere. Took us hours to find it later. Holte end was amazing that night. Little pocket of scousers in the bottom right corner as we looked down on the pitch. I recall some Liverpool fans running towards the Holte End after the match to applaude our support. Anyone else remember that?

Yes Firenze, I was going to mention that, we must have looked pretty impressive from their end. What a folllowing we had on the Holte End, a Blue wall. Maybe in the fullness of time we can have a Blue Wall of Fans at an enlarged KP.
