Why is it good news we have to stop being sentimental. It's one of the reasons we are financially stricken. Giving contracts out just for sentimental reasons. Win the league and let him leave at the top. Rather than being in a team that will struggle.

Sentiment? Are you joking? He's still our best striker - and by some distance. I'm sure we'll sign another forward in the summer, but I can assure you we won't be signing three of them. Vardy will absolutely have a role to play as one of our support strikers next season. If we go up, there will be plenty of games next season when we don't dominate possession and are forced to play on the counter a lot more - Vardy showed on Tuesday night that he still has the qualities to thrive in that kind of situation.

To parapharse Michael Corleone: It's not 'sentiment', Melton. It's strictly business.

Id rather be sentimental on one of our greatest ever than spunk another £30mill on another failure of a replacement.
 
Hope he does sign a new contract, legend status at Leicester City, obviously still has loads to offer the team, if we get promoted he has a target to get and that’s blabbermouth Michael Owen’s Premier League total of goals, not sure how many Vardy is behind him, fingers crossed… 🤞
 
There’s no room for sentiment. Facts are what matters. Vardy’s League goals per 90 minutes this season stand at 0.89, which is a far better return than any of the Division’s other leading marksmen. Then of course there are his motivational powers, his exceptional pressing skills, and his uncanny eagle impersonations. Give the great man a new contract asap.

I'd love him to still be there next year think he can still do a job for us but the cynic in me is wondering if his team are talking to the club to see what gets offered so as to use for a comparison/level with which he can gauge his options better,don't forget the Arabs where paying Henderson 750 grand a week!

Yeah, but that was Dickie Henderson, who with his song and dance and supposedly comic patter, was a genuine triple threat. Which is a world away from Southgate’s lSunderland-born hapless ovechild.

Spot on Channy and I'm glad you noticed it too - the idea of going into a new top-flight season playing the likes of the Magpies, the Seagulls, the Eagles (and possibly the Throstles should the play-offs be kind to them) without a high class and experienced bird impersonator up top is complete fucking madness.
