When was the last time anyone caught a train?
We moved just outside of Newquay nearly 4 years ago and the local branch line runs at the back of our house and Quintrell station is about 5 minutes walk, £2.40 gets us a return (9 minutes) journey into Newquay for a good few beers and to watch the City games, last train back is 9.20pm... 🚂🍺

Frequently travelling for work and up to Leicester and back for games. Less so recently for obvious reasons but I am taking the tube into the office twice per week and have been in at least once per week since June.

I love train travel it’s far more relaxing than flying and driving, and we’ll priced off you book early enough.

Since I turned 60 and bought a senior card I’ve used the train quite a bit. Always into London from Berkshire, especially for the footie and up to main hubs like Birmingham and down to Brighton. Sadly for home games it’s a minimum 3 changes so generally don’t bother. I do love it though.

I hadn’t been on a train for many years until we moved here, bit different to the football specials back in the day...

Sheffield utd away last season. £29 return in 30 degrees heat, the aircon fecked, packed in like sardines & an unscheduled hour wait at Derby on the way back.
Sticking with Zoonies when we get back to normal.

Love travelling by train.
Looking for a couple of places in Europe that we cab travel to by train for a few days next year if anyone has any recommendations.

I travel into London for work twice a week. I used to be about 20 rows back in the car park. Even now i'm straight up to row 1.

It makes it nice, even with a mask on. No twats.

Was on that it was a warm one, we got off at Chesterfield for a few beers and got a later one back into Leicester

There's also the St Erth - St Ives train further down the coast. Lovely coastal views.

Yeah luckily for a small market town Atherstone has hourly train service to London and use it a lot for city away games.
Miss it absolutely hate buses and car travel

Love trains, wish I had used them more.

Very early memory of being (briefly) allowed onto the footplate of a steam loco at Central Station in Leicester.

Most luxurious was the Blue Train in South Africa, most spectacular, narrow gage up the mountains to Shimla.

Lots of Europe is accessible, personal favourites are Berlin with an overnight stopover in Cologne, & south west France.
Bordeaux is lovely , the high speed trains are fantastic from Paris.
We've also travelled to Biarritz by train, & on to San Sebastian, though I think the days/nights of standing in a crowded bar there are a long way off.

Cheers Walt
Been looking at San Sebastian for some time now.
Lovely place.
It's quicker to get a bus from Biarritz, than train all the way, which to be honest is not for the faint hearted.
Or fly to Bilbao, which is definitely worth a visit, then catch a coach( about an hour) to San Sebastian.

Had a few that day it was hot ,goals from Jamie and Harvey, went for a couple afterwards then fell asleep waiting for that bloody train at derby. Arrived home rather late 😋. Well worth it 💙

I spent the last 8 years back and forth to London every day and became perversely fond of the commute, miss it like hell now I'm locked up at home. Saving a grand a month on train fares is nice though.

Today, first time since Feb and only cos we're on holiday in Falmouth and the lad has missed his train rides. We just did Falmouth Town to Docks and back. We've done the St Ives route many times - amazing views.
