Thomas?

That makes sense when I read it back I obviously misunderstood and assumed ‘stick’ was because he’s a bit lightweight.

They wouldn’t allow him to go on loan, I know a few have mentioned it may benefit him. When he wasn’t in the side earlier in the season I thought it would be good for him but he seems to have kicked on a bit over the last few months so I doubt sitting in the championship will help him develop to be honest.

With JJ back we shall see how it goes, he shouldn’t be playing every week but needs game time to continue to progress.

One big thing to highlight is that in my opinion he is a better LB than LWB he links up well with KDH, Barnes and Lookman. I think in time he could become a LWB but he’s still learning. The arsenal home game highlighted this as he has a shocking first half at LWB and then was put into LB in the second half and was better.

Still all a bit surreal but he’s loving it and so are the family.
That was against decent opposition despite what you think of Arsenal. Against a poorer side he ‘ll have more of a chance to shine.

I think with Evans coming to the end of his career and with Vestergaard hopefully off to the knackers yard to be used for glue, I think JJ would make a great CB especially in a 3. He’s strong, good with both feet and can pass. Why not?
Imo Justin is far too much of a plus going forward from his left back position to be ever considered at centre half.
Thought it was astonishing how far forward he was getting on Wednesday as soon as he got on the pitch from such a huge layoff.
He’s clearly a hell of an athlete

Might even be off to the world cup

Gareth Southgate has been impressed by the form of Leicester City’s Luke Thomas as the England manager ponders his left-back options.
Thomas could earn a call-up for the March friendlies, with the FA announcing that England will play against the Ivory Coast, as well as Switzerland, as part of Southgate’s World Cup preparations.
Ben Chilwell’s season-ending injury has given Southgate an issue at left-back, with the Chelsea star unlikely to be fully fit before September and needing to get back up to speed quickly before the World Cup kicks off in December.
Luke Shaw, Southgate’s other left-back, has also had his issues during the interim reign of Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United, which has left Southgate looking at his options.
Southgate was pictured at Leicester’s dramatic defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, with Thomas understood to be one of the players on his radar.
Kieran Trippier, who this month joined Newcastle United, can fill in on the left side, as he did at the European Championship, but Thomas, who can play as a left-back or a wing-back, represents a more natural, long-term solution.
The 20 year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season so far and, having already impressed in a victory over Liverpool, caught the eye on Wednesday night - making a superb goal-line clearance to deny England captain Harry Kane.
Thomas is already well known to the England coaching staff, having progressed through the age ranges at Under-18, U19, U20 and U21 level, and Southgate is known to keep a close eye on players who have come through the system.
With England playing competitive Nations League games in the summer, March represents the best time for Southgate to experiment and look at some different options.
Having already announced Switzerland as one of England’s March opponents, on the 26th, the FA has confirmed that Southgate’s team will also face the Ivory Coast at Wembley three days later.
