The Government care about you...

Nobody had to vote for him though. Don't like the alternatives; then don't vote.

A vote legitimised the cunt.

Not really. With a massive reduction in actual number of votes; there would have been no mandate for the cunt to govern. Did you vote for him?

Not Boris. That's the point. All very hypothetical and would never have happened - but may have meant we had better choices than BoJo and Corbyn. Did you vote for Boris?

Thinking much the same but it's pointless really isn't it.

For many years I actively refused to vote for any candidate, usually just writing 'None'. We really need a new political movement, hesitate to say party, as wide ranging changes are needed and no party will work for it's own extinction.

Damn. Got to agree with the idea of a new party/movement being needed.

We'd probably disagree on what that should be though.

That showed them.

You could spoil your ballot paper.

If so many claim to be as disenfranchised, imagine the scene if the number of spoilt papers was more than the votes gained by the winning party. It would truly demonstrate that the winning party does not have a mandate.

That people can’t be bothered to get themselves to the polling station to do this, is another matter.

Boris says....sing happy birthday......

Altogether now.....

Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Dear (name)
Happy Birthday to You.

From good friends and true,
From old friends and new,
May good luck go with you,
And happiness too.

So let's just have a free for all?
If you’re disenfranchised, then people should indicate that at the polling station. Not just when a TV camera is pointed at them in some random High St, & it becomes a 5-second vox pop.

“I can’t be bovvered - none of ‘em represent me” is the lamest excuse in the book.

Right, that settles it. I'm going to London to write rude words on the road going over Westminster Bridge

Err, that is what I did Mistryman, refused to vote for any candidate.

Probably not on the mechanism though. We need to attract people of a different calibre to our current 'political class' though how we do that is difficult to imagine.

Parliament itself is easy, select by drawing lotts. That way it will be truly, statistically, representative. Fancy that?

Then people wishing to form a government put together a manifesto, backed by about 10-12 people who form the bulk of the government top jobs with expertise brought in as required?

Or large, multi mp constituencies, with seats allocated by using the d'hondt method or similar.

Lots of options, being representative being the key for me.
.

Regarding spoiled ballots, I was talking historically. I have consistently voted Tory since returning to the UK at the start of 2009, primarily to get rid of the Blair/Brown government.

I did vote for Johnson. Error of judgement though the alternative may well have been worse.

He was given a chance to do the right thing for this country and chose not to. Proved himself to be an odious little creep.

That some choose to use “Imagine if Corbyn was in charge” really is weak & lazy.

As if the Eton flavour of shit is preferred.
Not having that Mistryman.

A terrorist supporting racist and hard line socialist would have been worse, I was being polite when I said 'may well have been worse'.

In a bi-partizan vote, that is a legitimate position to take.
