The Filbert Street End

Had great times in the Supporters Club in the corner, playing ‘Crash’ in The Turnstile with a minute to go before kick off, couple of pints on the girder for the 2nd half at the back of the stand, happy days and memories matey...

The strangest of football stands, but a great replica.

For football fans, it was easy to know you were looking at Filbert Street because of the North Stand.

I thought it was a photo Micky... incredible!
I recall standing in that far corner with Tommy Williams, packed with Scouse fans, as we came back to beat Liverpool 3-2, Weller hat-trick 30/08/72... marvellous scenes!

I was in the Kop that night, bloody marvellous memory, I’m sure he put one in with his arm as he was screaming right in front of us pointing at his arm......

Yes, I was only 12 and I'd just got my first season ticket in the decker, their finest home game in the all white strip

That left hand stanchion in the photo. Brings back memories of the Portsmouth goal that never was. No goal line technology in those days, save for a linesman`s eyesight.

Micky, coming up to 50 years since we took to the field in that all white strip. I would love it if the club played in an all white home strip for the 2022/23 season.

Only ever sat in there once when we lost 5_0 to a very handy WBA. I think it might have been 5_0 at half time!
It would great if they wore all white for at least I game, perhaps the home game nearest to that famous night in white.

I've only sat there once too, a more enjoyable day, well the result the game was bloody rubbish. City 0 Burnley 0 (Supa Mac is still fuming)
