The catering at City

It’s one of life’s great mysteries to me that so many people, despite the crap food/drink and customer service, spend so much time and money on the concourse instead of watching the game from their seat. I appreciate there’s a socialising element to the gatherings below but it all strikes me as a bit weird that people feel the need to do that on a regular basis.
Last year it was better to be on the concourse than watching the "football"

Mass catering has been abysmal for years.
No thought for the consumer in either product or experience. Huge profit, low quality.

I don’t think they are making the profit they could though - a speedy operation would shift much more, and more people would go.
yep, and less wastage as that must be currently killing profit margins! in the pubs/ hotels we used to give the "waste" to the chefs to make beer batter, rarebit, stews, steak and ale pies, therefore turning potential waste into profit...LCFC feed it to the fishes

If you’ve ever been into Pret A Manger outside Euston, it gets very very busy. There’s a manager shouting and organising and cajoling his staff along. Everyone knows exactly what they need to be doing, and that they need to get on with it. It’s cheerful, he also has good banter with the customers. Lively and productive.
Just what these outlets need, that’s what I mean by managing.

I went to the cricke4t final at Trent bridge. They have vending machines for San Miguel and what ever the bitter was. While there was a huge slow movind queue at the bar for "other drinks" if you just wanted a lager it was a really quick and slick operation. You go to the lager machine put 1 or 2 empty glasses on the sensor, flash your debit card or phone and voila---it pours. BRILLIANT (best thing in Nottingham)
