The Bench

I went over today to put Micky's plaque up on the bench, but it was pissing down and when I got there I thought the other plaques could do with a clean as some are pretty dark. I know Kendal and others go along and clean it up every now and again. So I just wanted to ask if the darker plaques do buff up, and if so what's the best thing to use, Brasso?

And lastly, I don't want to offend anyone but I'm going to put Micky's plaque top centre of the bench for obvious reasons, so I will have to move a couple around. Just wanted to let you all know before hand.

Any advice gratefully received.

Peace and love

Mick used to buff them up there and then.
No need to take them anywhere.
Is there something I can put on them to stop them going black, you can hardly read some of them, but other older ones are still brassy looking, so must be a coating or different metals. I dunno!!

Jackie, l fount the best way to get them in place was use double sided tape to get the positioned as them little screws are a nightmare.

Jackie you can try WD 40 that cleans as well could also protect brass blackens quite quickly in wet conditions WD might offset that
What if i got them shiny and then lacquered them or something? I'm gonna ask Google.

Oi, SixSwan, what's the best way to keep the brass shiny?

Hairspray.

No seriously.

When we did the menus on chalk boards we sprayed them with hairspray.

It’s not long term but gives them some protection from the rain.
