Hermansen, Faes, Doyle, Ricardo, Winks, Dewsbury Hall, Mavididi, Praet all played well, couple in next week (creative midfielder & right winger) and Captain Coady back, would sooner have Justin in at the back for a bit of pace as we still look too slow in a foot race. McAteer needs a few games under his belt at this level and Vardy need to stay on the last defender more…
 
When we moved the ball faster, and into the box quickly we got the goal, still too much passing for the sake off for me.But early days.
Still can't defend corners

I know it's early days and don't want to sound negative on this always super positive message board 🙄 but I haven't seen him do anything to back up all the hype about him, if we'd of signed him from say? Stoke? Would we be so confident in his ability?

Definitely, I think when Cody is back it will be a back 3 with Faes & Doyle, Ricardo/Justin right & Kristiansen/Thomas left, much better balance, get rid of Vestergaard but keep Souttar as he’s not had a feckin chance…

Thought there was much to be hopeful about but needs a few serious tweaks .
1. Westergaards inclusion is baffling . Ridiculously slow and much of today was spent watching him endlessly pass the ball from the centre to the edge of the centre circle. JJ has to play at left back and move Doyle inside .
2. Ndidi is not good enough for his role . Replace immediately with the Italian lad from Chelski or Praet if we can’t get him .
3. Ship out Nacho and Daka and bring in the Swansea lad Piroe at any cost .
If we manage that I reckon we’ll be fine ……until the inevitable training injuries .
 
I think this whole Enzo concept is that when we have the ball we revert to a back 3, which is why Doyle is in there at left back and he prefers Vestegaard to Souttar until Coady is fit.

Pereira moves in alongside Winks at the base and in theory the other 2 central midfielders, today Ndidi and KDH, get in the box.

Not sure I see Castagne, Justin, Kristiansan or Thomas being asked/trusted to do the Pereira bit.

Can definitely make an argument to replace big Jan, but replacing Ricardo, or Doyle is much more problematic to way we will clearly play this year.

No-one else in the squad offers what Ricardo does. And on that subject I doubt anyone can adequately replace winks if he picks up an injury. Two key men this year.

That’s the scary bit, although we’ve not seen what his plan B or C is.

He wasn’t a total horror show today, he did do some decent things and had a shot on goal which is more than some of our forwards did.

I agree he isn’t the long term solution but the manager rates him much higher than any other option.

I thought he’d had a shot but since been told it was Doyle.

If he recovers to what he was pre-injuries, I could see JJ doing that role.....
 
Don't get the goal kicks. Pass two yards to swan Vesta then pass backwards and forwards, against a better team disaster waiting to happen. Ok for pep and Man city, we ain't got the players

Coady (when fit can do it), goalie can do it, Winks can do it, takes time but can only be achieved through practice.
