Thank you Boris and everyone who voted for him

I will freely admit that I voted for the Tories and Johnson in the last election.

My hope was that Johnson would be a positive, pro British PM that would use his big, slightly buffoonish personality as a sort of figurehead for a serious pro Brexit government that would fight hard and get the UK out of the clutches of the eu.

Sadly he turned out to be a complete arse and royally fucked up everything that he has touched.
The buffoonish personality is sadly, what still resonates significantly with so many in this country.

Other than the fact that Johnson went to Eton & Oxford (which has subsequently given him opportunities not open to others), he has ably demonstrated that he isn’t special, gifted or a true leader at all.

Whereas I thought it was pretty obvious that these qualities, among others, made him entirely unsuitable to be PM.
I have to say that I did not think that to be the case at the time.

Certainly turned out to be the case in retrospect.

It would be easy to say I picked him as "a wrong 'un" at the time, but that is not the case. Like Cameron, the sheer scale of the lies deceived me. Should have learned my lesson the first (Cameron) time, but I like to see the best in people. (Ie, a bit gullible)

Pretty much the case MM.

I had hoped for a positive, somewhat bullish style, moderated by a bit of humour. Big picture stuff with the real work being handled by others more comfortable with the detail.

Has he ever been funny - I mean genuinely? And I don't mean funny in the sense of adding a red nose, a hat & a squirty lapel flower to his scruffy hair look?

I just thought that he could say and do stuff and make it sound less aggressive maybe. Personal thing, I like to stand my ground but see no reason to be offensive if I can avoid it.

To be honest, when he tries to be funny he is just awful, it is just his relaxed style that I thought could be made to work, both for him and the country.

A shame his ‘relaxed’ style wasn’t more picked up when he was London Mayor -would miss meetings, ignore briefings (& subsequently make up stuff on the spot, leaving others to pick up the shit he left), & had no interest in the detail.

All I can recall from his time as Mayor here in the Bog Smoke was him saying it would be terrible for London (and thus the whole country) if we exited the EU.

And some bikes. (which was Livingstone's initiative)

A lot of the "funny", lovable buffoon stuff is an act. There was a good article somewhere about some speech he made. Will try to find it.

This?

No it was this one

Ok. So none of you saw it the way Idid.

Get over yourselves, it's not like I came round and shagged your wife/girlfriend...

that article explains a lot:

"“Now, I accept,” he went on in an uncertain tone, “that as a result some small children were eaten by a shark. But how much more pleasure did the MAJORITY get from those beaches as a result of the boldness of the Mayor in Jaws?”"

there is a late-lockdown covid analogy in there somewhere....

And he missed all those meetings at the beginning of the The pandemic after two weeks off in the sun at Christmas. Even when he had covid that didn't seem to change him, no then he used it as an excuse avoid the public, not even a message came from his hidey hole and instead sent his minions out. You'd have thought if he'd had it he would have more urgency but no you'd think he'd had mild cold then weeks later was caught talking to some MP without a mask on. His hero Churchill would be disgusted with him.

Just seen the interview at the beginning of the epidemic where he was trying to play it down and bragging about how he was shaking hands with people in hospital. Twat

Lest we forget, he also talked about the nation taking the “disease on the chin” & allowing it to “work itself through the country”.

Prime-grade bluster.

TBF he has virtually stuck two fingers up to the EU regarding the vaccines as they have asked if we could vaccinating and give them some of the vaccines
