The authorities seem to be taking the re-patriation of students over the festive period seriously, I hope in early January when the students return to university that equally stringent testing is done.
Otherwise we will probably have a 3rd wave in mid to late January.

There are definitely plenty of very ill people around at present, from Covid.

Most of the current "wave" is a result of keeping schools open. I know lots of people who have tested positive in the last week. Only knew a handful in the first wave. The schools are generating the numbers.

This isn't me advocating lockdowns, or school closures. Just stating the bleeding obvious.

I went from not knowing anyone that had it to knowing quite a few now, some been bad with it some have had no symptoms at all.

It's all very odd.

My sister's sister in law and her husband have had it. They were in their local sports n social club on the eve of lockdown in a side room seating eleven people. All eleven of them tested positive within days. Quite shocking really.

A couple of good posts there fox and out.
I was the same where I knew nobody who had had the virus till October, now I know 3 or 4.

I thought that the government missed a trick with schools and universities, when the last lockdown was brought in, they should have closed them as well until after Christmas, then squeezed the holidays such as scrap half terms shorten Easter and finish the summer term late July.

The authorities talk a good game about uni students going home for Christmas......the reality in my personal experience is very different
