Sohos right

Whatever the reason, we do not, and have not, had a strong enough squad to complete at the level required.
Money, Manager, injuries, tactics? Could be any or all.....rather sad really..

You have to say depressingly so that he is right. These last 12 games are going to be torturous to watch.
We’ve just been beaten twice by poor sides. Jesus Christ, arsenal changed 6 of their players for inferior ones & cruised it.

It’s not just the squad it’s the fast pace of the games. Any team would struggle.

We just don’t have the money to have as strong a squad as any of the established 6. We’re down to our bare bones and knackered. Even in a normal season there would have been a few weeks with no games.

Don't know why anyone is surprised by this late season slump.
Its in Rodgers' DNA.
All the injuries are down to too many games with very short recovery times.

That makes no sense. It’s in Rodgers’ DNA (I’m assuming this is in reference to his outlook or tactics), but then you mention too many games & short recovery (which he had no control over).

Do you actually mean his lack of investment in certain areas of the squad?

All the bigger teams in the PL have had their bad run of form this season. Ours seems to have started now, coinciding with very important players succumbing to injuries at an alarming rate. Barnes, Maddison, Justin, Perez, to name only those dropping out in the last 2 1/2 weeks.

We've done incredibly well this season up to this point but the injuries coupled with fatigue setting in are cause for concern. In fact, fatigue is probably a main cause of these injuries.

It’s why I wasn’t at all bothered that we got knocked out of the Europa league on Thursday. You could see by the way they played against Slavia Prague that the intensity and creativity had gone. It was the same today. We looked knackered from the first minute, and even though Arsenal Managed to give us a great start, we were always on the back foot.
The worst bit is the internationals that are coming up where the likes of Belgium and Northern Ireland who no doubt will want to play our players in all the matches. Rodgers has got to be canny and ensure they get a little niggle just before they go on international duty

Tbh after today’s starting 11 we‘d have Justin,Maddison, praet, fofana,Perez,Mendy, choudhury,Fuchs,Daley Campbell, and maybe a couple more youngsters to rotate the squad if we didn’t have such an awful injury list you can’t except anyone to forecast that or buy players to cover it just in case

No other team has challenged to break into the top 6 as much as we have these past few years.

When we won the league it was a fucking miracle. When we got to the quarter finals of the Champions League it was a miracle. That we were in the top 4 for so long last season before succumbing on the last day of the season and that we’ve done the same this season with the shortened season and the European campaign is amazing.

It’s not looking good right now but it’s not over. If we can finish in 4th place it’ll be amazing and so well deserved. We need to somehow get something at Burnley and go from there. I don’t half wish we had a free week this week.

Its all caught up with us this week but if we can get four points out of the next two games we will still be hanging in there.
We've been so unlucky with injuries to key players at key times where as the likes of Yanited and Chelski seem to have got off lightly so a top four finish would be massive

What is the deal with our appalling home form though?
Do crowds make a difference.
We've taken 30 pts away and 19 at home.
Only the bottom 3 have lost more home games than us!
How is that possible?

This scenario was always on the cards once we qualified for EL.
I bet the Chairman does not have too much spare dosh at the moment to give to BR because of the slump in Tourism to Thailand.

I’ve said this before they are probably taking money out of the club at the mi ute to keep their other businesses afloat.

Certainly with the European games we’ve had this season, the extra match day income from ticket sales, sponsorship, hospitality, food and drink, merchandise would have been very useful to us.
