We're walking the league with the squad we have. the club got rid of 14 players in the summer. That tells me the club did things right.
It's not like we're mid table or near the relegation zone and NEED to sign a player to improve things.
The summer however will be totally different.

Not one of the players we signed in the summer of 2016 should have been purchased. Not one of them enhanced the squad let alone improved it. Bearing in mind we’d already weakened the squad with Amartey and Gray and then sold Kante.

They were players scouted for another relegation battle. When it became clear we were not going down Walsh and the scouting team should have been working night and day on different targets.

That summer is one of regret and missed opportunity.

I think thats a bit harsh on Mendy who never let us down and if he and Iverson had played from the start we would have finished mid table. The others I agree on.

We all have this sentimental view that Mendy was somehow a bit more decent.

In 7 seasons he played less than 100 league games. Ranieri, Shakespeare, Puel and Rodgers never saw enough in him to really trust him.
