Schmeicals fault

Another brilliant save, you negative twats piss me off. If you can remember Martin Hodge you would not be moaning.

Schmeichel's positives far outweigh his negatives.

The first one if he had come out to catch there would be no need for a save, he came off his line 2 or 3 times in the first half well out of his goal area

I don’t think he could have come for that first one. The cross was beautiful, curling away from him at pace.

Pass it out to a defender with the opposition just outside the box with the opposition bearing down on them is OK?
Yes because it reached Hamza who had time to control it, which he did, and time to lay it off, which is when he bucked the job up

Boot the feckin ball Kasper, put it in the opposition’s half and let them deal with it, much sooner have a mistake 70/80 yards up the pitch than 20 yards from our goal, we never look comfortable doing this and it invites pressure on us...

Exactly

But the only thing he could do was to pass backwards which just heaps more pressure on our defence if you must play it out of defence either wait until the opposition are tired and don't want to chase everything or give it to a player with enough skill/gumption to try to turn or pass it sideways

They weren't actually chasing everything. The only player who reacts when Ndidi pays the ball is (I think) Cork to stop Choudhury turning and breaking into midfield (he's obviously not watched him play). Vydra only becomes interested when Choudhury misplaces his pass. Everybody else is passive, there was no press. Do I think the order of the boot should be deployed more often than it is? Yeah, I think the modern day orthodoxy of always playing out from the back regardless isn't always appropriate but Wednesday was not such a time. A lot has been said on here about fatigue. You want to try and reduce the effect? Control the ball.

Right that's a plan, lump it up the pitch and give it straight back to them.
We all buckin know whose fault it was.
So far Kasper has been our MOM
Lump it up the field and give it back to them in their half or try to be clever and give it back to them in our final third? Great shop stopper, but there are flaws to his play. His distribution is at best 50% in my opinion...

I know there are those that think his distribution (from feet especially) has always been poor but I think it has become more of an issue relatively recently as we have asked him to play it quicker and shorter to the touchline. In the earlier years his distribution was often phenomenal (and in my view under-rated, and you still some brilliant distribution at times) but he had more time and more margin of error (especially in the Championship) as we looked for him to lump it [accurately] 60-70 yards to the wings. His accuracy was so often spot on and when it wasn't it usually wasn't by much (though it always looks bad when it goes out hence I think the perception that it has always been poor) and of course in the Championship we were looking to press much higher when we didn't have the ball. I don't think we feel we can afford to press so high now as teams break so fast so it is just giving the ball back to the opposition albeit higher up the pitch and hence the ask for Kasper to play it out to the full-backs/wing-backs. And when that goes wrong it looks really, really shit.

Love a bit of balance, me. And buz has just provided that. Thanks buz.

The only thing I would add to your final sentence is: ....but sometimes it not only looks really, really shit, it really is really, really shit.

BLUE ARMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Accuracy is one thing, often he chips the ball in the air to a player on the wing forcing that player to either head it or try to get it under control in the face of an opposition player who has had the time to get to and cover the recipient. I wouldn’t say his distribution has ever been good....at best average. Would I swap him out? No...he is a quality keeper albeit flawed in areas....

Quite strange this.
A few times kasper has passed it out along the ground & it’s gone pear shaped. Last match of last season with lingard scoring, aguero a couple of seasons back with the same outcome spring to mind & that kick out to the touch line is nauseating.
However the goal on Wednesday was 100% the fault of choudhury. It was pure & simple a shocking pass back to ndidi.

Schmeical again playing with fire his pass hardly out the box, before that moaning at the referee when need to get it up there ffs
