Remembering Bruin v Cov.

Weller

Roofer
This is the Day the game he loved , I remember he would remind me the week leading up to it of my jobs for the week,
First don't be pissed on Saturday morning/ Sunday. Arrive at the connie by 9am, he'd be nowhere to be seen but his car was in car park ' await a call to pick him up and while I'm there fill the car up with the famous connie batches NOT COBS, phaph around while he got his usual bag together consisting of envelopes full of match day tickets, booklets of coloured raffle tickets Don't touch them he'd yell at me because they were in particular order of Busses, still drinking tea from the biggest mug you've ever seen, white/off white jumper with appropriate badges, oh 1.5 liter bottle of water. Finally were of to the conniston .
Poor Nogin being ordered around like a naughty schoolboy checking how many staff he'd put on for when his beloved leicester mate's turned up?.
Then all chaos starts, people turning up in there droves throwing cash at him wanting to know what bus they'd be on because they had to sit together!!! He'd probably lose it about 3 or 4 times during that mad 2 hour's, he'd bark over to me your not drinking yet are you?? Phone Wilbo see what time the coaches are turning up as the old bill are on there way routine check no problem " place stinking of wacky backy !!!!!!!!
Right start getting them loaded onto the Busses easier said than done my fault for any delays. His bag and pockets full of cash, Nogins next holiday paid for ' Nogin was the landlord " .making sure all his batches were sold £££££ we were on our way to the parrot cage as he called it.
I know this is a home game today but Bob and I have hated these since the early 70s when we met me from across the border Witherley and him jus a mile away in nuneaton warwickshire . I'll miss him today not only because its the start of another new season but we considered this our game of the season.
I write this with a very heavy heart and a tear in my eye.
So please please do this for Bobby and all his leicester mates.
GOD BLESS YOU BRUIN.

12 years ago today. First game of the season under new manager Sven Göran Eriksson. Away at Cov. Today, first game of the season under new manager Enzo Maresca, at home to Cov. Bobby will be with us.

All roofers on the pink bus.

Lovely tale, this is what the roof is all about, and this is 100% what I come on here for and long may it continue…
God bless Bruin and all the others who have sadly left us…

I was presented with a OF&F Volume 3 all signed up by the Pink Bus passengers in appreciation of building mini Filbo
Included a signature from the legendary author Paul Taylor (RIP) too. All organised by the Roof’s No. 1 Cunt 👍
