The maximum sentence for rape is life.

Don't think you'll get life for stealing some coins.

Rapists should be dissolved in acid, in my opinion.

They didn't own the land the treasure was found on and failed to declare the find.
They would have been entitled to a split with the landowner, through the correct channels.
 
Oh dear, let me explain. Regardless of whether the find was on private or public site the crown still claim to own it because they made up a law.
