Politically Incorrect

Skinheads. In Leicester. I can't speak for the earlier version, but the late 70s version I knew very well. Got me caught between two worlds and two groups of people. Not always easy, because I liked individuals in both camps. Yeah, I remember the chant, and in particular, one lad who used to chant it with a big dopey smile on his face. A couple of years older than me, horrible. It eventually ended up with us fighting on Belgrave Gate. (I won that one.) Drug addict, psychotic, and last I heard, being interviewed in silhouette about addiction on the telly.
No, I never sang it. I refused. Some of my mates did. One who's with a black girl now.

I'm asking the questions here Daggers. And fair play to Astley for having the balls to be able to own what he did. We all live and learn in life.

So, no I didn't , but I also didn't complain to those that did, so that, by today's standards, makes me complicit in the problem? Intersting that the racist card is being shown again where PC is the subject. What about the programme sellers walking in front of the Kop shortly after kick off and being politely requested to flash their appendages? The guy slightly older than me with lank blondish hair, in Pen 3 (must be mid seventies by now) continually shouting obsceneties like 'chop the cunts legs' and 'Fucking wanker' to any opposition player be they white or black.? All PC in this age. Goes to show the mentality of the era and PC hadn't been invented maybe.

'Because people like to judge others with little thought, but they don't like to judge themselves.'
Yep. True dat.
In my case though, I tend to forgive everyone execpt myself.

Most of us in that era, in certain bits of the ground, did/saw/sung things we shouldn't have done&wouldn't /couldn't/shouldn't do now.

Luke Shaw was greeted with a chorus of ' you fat bastard' by hundreds if not thousands at Newcastle ,last season, when he trotted over to take a corner. The media outcry ? Not a word
