Pisswich

I remember that 6-0 win, worst Ipswich team I have seen, I think Nugent filled his boots that day. I must say they have been through the mill in recent years toiling away in the third tier then got lucky with McKenna.

I was gutted. Missed it as my parents took me to see the pantomime at Co* Belgrade Theatre!

It’s not a nightmare Kev but it gives Leeds something to build on. They’ll certainly have Ipswich in their sights. Probably even us. A point would have given them far less energy over the next few games.

Ipswich play Leeds away the game before Christmas and are obviously at home to us on Boxing Day.

That game was a memorable one for me on several counts.
- It was the first night that Christmas/New Year season that my mates and I failed to take in a pantomime.
- the van we drove in to Filbo from Hardborough overheated, and we topped up the steaming radiator with water from a church in Stoneygate.
- we ended up running to the ground and going straight in the Pop side, where there was no queue.
- watched close up as Frankie scored what would have been a spectacular fourth goal for him, from a too quickly taken free kick.
- found ourselves in front of a bloke who started muttering about ‘lackadaisical Leicester’ after a misplaced pass as second half injury time approached.
- ended up stuffing the miserable bastid into the back of said van after the game, and rolling him naked down the inclined plane at Foxton Locks, while we all pointed out the flickering lantern lights on the barges berthed down the Grand Union.
