They do. But only to say you're a bad guy, for doing exactly what they do. Use a phone or laptop.
But here's a thing.
Do you also back a government that makes the poor poorer, the rich more powerful, because you back net zero?
Do you back net zero, when you know that even if your shitty country gets there, it'll make no difference whatosever to global climate change?
Do you preach about all of this, call people bastards and back a government that puts up spy cameras to shove this stuff down people's throats and make it almost impossibe for the poorer to drive around in cheap cars?

You haven't said I have one, but making a comment about phones isn't promoting electric vehicles, it's showing the hypocrisy of those that complain about electric cars by mentioning the methods used for making rechargeable batteries. If you're that against it, boycott all devices with a rechargeable battery, but you won't, you just want to try to make a point about electric vehicles.
Who won't it? Why are they aiming for net zero then? It would be easier for the Govt to just carry on as we are. There's more money in petrochemicals to be made than aiming for net zero.

You think your government are independent thinkers buddy, they are not.
It makes no difference that they may give up one route, because there are a busload of other ways to get money.
Just like there have always been a busload of ways to get people to fall in line.
