That’s not far from me I keep meaning to go in when we can againGeorge and Dragon at Stoke Golding is a Church End pub as well
I can confirm Fenny Stratford was decent but I’m going back to when max gradel scored the late free kick, good few years ago. Before MK Dons away a number of us met at the Red Lion at Fenny Stratford. I don’t know what it’s like now but the landlord there had some decent beers on. He took a few quid that day too before and after the game!!
Might be worth a look? It’s by the canal so will have a decent outside space for drinking till it opens fully in May.
You maybe thinking of Hoskins Brothers brewery. HOB is the beer. They still do HOB bitter regularly, but the mild less so.Do HOB still exist? Their mild was excellent.
That's the one. Didn't they used to be Hoskins and Oldfield? You maybe thinking of Hoskins Brothers brewery. HOB is the beer. They still do HOB bitter regularly, but the mild less so.
(It's brewed at Tower Brewery, Burton now)
The Ale Wagon is their pub, though sadly one of the brothers died last year.
Their cask beers are currently being served at the LCB depot just down the road from the Wagon.
I was there yesterday, as was the remaining brother Steve. I had a chat with him and he said the pub will be back open from 17 May ("subject to Boris and his chums").
I hadn't realised what a large outdoor space that LCB depot had at the back. Nice while the sun was out.
The Hoskins IPA wasn't in great nick though tbf, so I retired to The Salmon.
