New DoF and who it might be

Oadlad

I have just resuurrected, on The Fosse Way, the calls for Kasper Schmeichel to be considererd for DoF.
To carry on with the present chief is surely madness and KS would, I believe' be an inspirational appointment.
And don't we need that? Go on Top, make the call. Anybody else on board?

We have a well respected ex-captain with an MSc in Sports Directorship. Please step forward Big Wes. Please!

With all respect I think it needs someone with a wider experience, including in Europe. Ideally someone who has done the job and knows the ins and outs of dealing with agents and other clubs. I would be looking for counsel from Jon Holmes about how to select someone.
Btw has someone caught wind of the fact that the position may soon be coming available or is this pure speculation?!

Just speculation - and it is very unlikely to happen. And even if we did appoint a new Director of Football, choosing a former player with zero experience sounds like a recipe for disaster rather than a solution to our current predicament.

Fingers crossed and I hear Barrie Pierpoint is replacing Whelan

Plus the fact his is a carbon copy in being silly close to Top.

Exactly this....Much of this situation has been caused by inexperience. We don't need motivation for a position as important as this, just someone who actually knows what the fuck they are doing.

Problem with that view is that as DoFs are a relatively new breed almost all existing ones are in work and valued.
Ask the new Mr. ManU...

Schmeichel
Wes Morgan

Yes. We definitely want people in that contributed to the fucking shit we’re in by being paid 2/3 times what they were worth every week. They’ll definitely sort it for us.

So you'd turn down the offer of a decent wage then, in case your employer gets into financial problems in a few years?

At least they'd know that we cant afford to pay the next generation what we were paying them.

It's all too cosy.
Everything around the Boardroom table needs to change.
The club has to reset and accept that new faces are needed, with fresh ideas.
These problems are not short term fixes.

Be more than happy yo-yoing between the two divisions for a few seasons until we get on a better financial footing.
