Mourinho sacked

But as I put on my abortive thread, the timing just before a cup Final is a bit odd ā€“ maybe this is EBCCSWL-related...

I see that the cockney, psuedo-Scot, Celtic-supporting ageing rock star that is Rod Stewart is already touting Mourinho for the Parkhead job...

Very sorry to hear this. Poor JosƩ and poor Spuds!!

NOT!!!

On a serious note, I never thought they'd be a good fit. Say what you will about Spurs but they've not been particularly known for being a defensive-minded team, at least not in my time.

Here we go (BBC News site):

Who next for Spurs?

It appears the bookmakers' favourite to replace Jose Mourinho is Julian Nagelsmann.
The 33-year-old RB Leipzig boss leads the way, while Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is also a contender.

Iā€™m not a huge Jose fan, but in this case I have some sympathy. To be sacked in the week leading up to a Cup Final is just pathetic. Daniel Levy goes out of his way to call him a ā€œtrue professionalā€ and then, in my opinion, commits an act of gross unprofessionalism. Jose deserves better, but then again, this is Spurs.

Apparently he refused to train the players after this ESL farce because he doesn't want to manage a team in the ESL. If this is true fair play to him for making a stand.

That doesn't make sense, Daz. Do we even know when this Super League is supposed to start?

Even if he really didn't want to be part of the ESL there would be a million opportunities to get out before, without throwing toys out of the pram and taking it effectively out on the team.

They are talking about August time or so the statement says

bit of a risk for anyone to move there if they already have a job...potentially you might only play 10 games next season!

He seemed a bit odd in his last post match interview, quite smiley, relaxed and not moaning bout the game or pens awarded against his team, I think he was resigned that something was gonna happen, Ive always liked the guy.
