MOTD

Yep now maybe the cheating diving yelping buggers might realise they're getting the piss took out of them and cut it out

Shows that refereeing is a difficult job.

The reason players do it must be because it has worked in the past - ie feigning serious pain leads to more free kick awards, and yellow cards, than would otherwise be awarded. It is playing on the ref's innate human reaction to take some account of the "pain" being "expressed".

Excellent to see it called out on MOTD, but I don't think it will change behaviours, sadly

Until these unusual times I never knew players yelped when hurt, but then I never knew players (or anyone else) spat all the time until televised football was invented.
And I loved Wilf's rage at the ref when penalised for winning the ball in midfield, which looked to me fairer than the Dunk/JV 'penalty'....

It’s a part of the modern game that I truly hate started by cheating South American’s and Southern Europeans and now sadly in pretty much every players DNA of whatever nationality. It’s a complete embarrassment to the game we love. Lacazette was beyond pathetic. You’d honestly thought he’d had his leg blown off. I’m so pleased the MOTD guys ( all old boy English strikers who would have been kicked to death back in the day) called him out. They should make it an award. Richarlison is another screamer. FIFA should change the rules so any screaming injury has to be assessed off the field for a minimum of 5 mins. It would stop overnight. No wonder the rugby lot laugh at football.
