Martin

I think there is a lot to learn and he can't just lump it on the players. Playing as we do is suicidal. We've been lucky that previous opposition have missed good opportunities otherwise we'd have had a more realistic picture of where we're at. Today we were well and truly spanked for our mistakes. Oxford took us apart 2nd half.

There's a helluva lot to turn around and imho there needs to be a review of how we play. I've never liked this kind of football whoever the manager is. I really do think it is too risky and we haven't the players to handle risk. I think Martin's got to rethink, and I don't see he has a lot of time to do it. Continue to play like this (to twist the phrase) and we've no chance of threatening promotion places.

He's gotta go.
He's taking us down, today a new low even by our recent standards

Just reading his comments, it's possible he does accept some responsibility. Whether he did so intentionally I don't know because you kinda have to read between the lines. I'm quoting from the Mockery...

I made a couple of subs and took some experienced guys off to try and inject some energy in the game.
then
"But the learning is, I think the team is too young and too inexperienced at the end.

His learning?

Just a complete word salad from The Maestro.
Where does he buy his bloody trousers?

Sure, but I'll qualify. Safe for now. I think he has the time to respond to this. Wouldn't be my vote btw but then I dislike this style of football. I'd have him gone and wouldn't be going anywhere near any manager that proposes it. But then it's quite clear that the club has identified this style as "our identity" so what I think counts for diddly. I see our identity as becoming easy meat for any hard working and physical side.

This style has been identified for the last few seasons. It ain't worked and we are still sliding backwards down the divisions.
Trouble is those that make the decisions can't see it.
Martin out, but they won't do it

Once more we sleepwalk towards a lower division.

It just doesn't feel right playing this type of football in this league, every team we've played have got our number, every game we've played we've been 2nd best or scraped through!! Against Plymouth we scraped through. There's some good player's there who would walk into a championship side all home produced and why is a player bought for the premiership struggling in this league speaks volumes. Personally I hadn't heard of most of these new recruits he's brought in to the club and I can't see them lasting the term as soon as he goes i can't see anyone else wanting them or is it like me they haven't got got a clue what he's trying to achieve??

You just said though Weller we have got some good players here. Have we though?
I think some of the young ones are yes, but just look at the league we are in they should be , most have progressed through the ranks of the premiership with the best facilities etc

Sadly I can’t see Martin being sacked until he’s taken us back into the drop zone. At least as things are going that won’t be long but once back in it I can’t see us getting out quickly.

In interviews he's starting to sound like the leader of some dodgy religious sect rather than a professional football manager. Weirdo.

Reckon Martin has around a month due to the uncertainty around the transfer window and not yet being able to play the new signings who need to bring experience to the midfield and defence.

If Chaplin, Lundstum and O’Hora do not make a difference, Martin is done.

A couple of days ago the idiot said Lundstum was a little behind due to not being involved with his previous team cus all parties knew he was leaving. That’s fair enough.
With O’hora he said he was absolutely fine. Hibs season had started really early due to Europe. He was 10 games into the season & he started Thomas.

Worryingly I’m seeing no drop in level of standard since leaving the premier, all these teams are fit, quick, strong, and can play. And apart from the finishing ( though theirs was pretty good yesterday) that could’ve been West Brom, PNE , etc from last year, they can all nullify this god awful playing style, which as far as I can see only us and Man City play! And if it continues Accrington Stanley will be doing us next year.
3-0 down and he changes strikers, no two up top and going to the sound of the trumpets for this bloke, just more of the same! They just dropped balls over our fullbacks and they were in, our wingers were out wide and nobody had the sense or courage or idea to ping a diag out to them all game. This Lundstram has got to be good because we need a strong character to alter it on the pitch when things aren’t right and ignore the touch line.

I fear you're right. I genuinely fear we'll continue to lose, or scrape draws, until Top eventually calls time and finds the money to sack him. Sooner rather than later would be my preference but given the state the club is in, it may not be until next year.

Martin's style is the big problem and he is not going to change it. We've seen such stubborn arrogance time and again.
