Was that Jim Breaker lived in Wigston used to box in the Army,he used to shut the door and ask any of us if we fancied a "bit of a box" funny bloke
The gaffer was Bill Saul bit like Captain Mannering.
There was also Fred Palmer who did our evening classes, still see him out and about in Wigston.
They were all good blokes and knew their Stuff

I played at a hall on the first floor of a building on the corner of Belvoir St and (I think) Albion street but I cant remember the name of it for the life of me. I had just started work in the city centre and we went there at lunchtime. Great atmosphere!

Weren't Albion Street it was Stamford Street. The bloke who owned it paid his son a bit of a pittance and then when he turned 21, well as I recall his dad bought him a serious fuck off red motor.

I didn't realise it was closed. Millstone Lane is the road with the the R&D, Friar Lane is parallel [corrected, moron moment] and is the one that had the snooker club as I recall. Mill Lane is where the Poly is - and where City (well, the Fosse) used to play.
That's right - good job I'm not a taxi driver...

Does anyone remember the malt loaf
4 slices to the loaf loads of thick butter
Couldn't decide which was best the end or middle bit
Also the leaking roof buckets on the tables with Ernie and Barry with mops out whilst you took a shot
