Ivan Toney is a real prospect; quick; skilful and good in the air.
Northampton lad and very grounded from someone I know who trained him.
Worth waiting for to see if Brentford go up.

Hard to argue with Brentford's decision a few years ago to go with solely data-driven recruitment. They seem to be replacing Southampton as the PLs feeder club of choice. Be interesting to see at the end of the season how many of last summer's transferees manage to perform all season long, as per the likes of Tarkowski have managed. You can't help feeling that Watkins, Benrahma, etc might struggle to maintain their promising starts. Toney could well be off next summer if they don't go up...

They’ll go up this season, top 2. They deserve it too.

Hope they do. But I would have thought that their model, which is to recruit Europe wide, largely from players who are not given a second professional contract at say 20, 21, 22, would be disrupted by Brexit

You do realise he was on Leicester’s books at about the age of 12/13.
He was in the same year and primary school as my son - who’s still friends with him. As mentioned above, he is very grounded.
I wasn’t aware he was ‘a nightmare’ at Newcastle - that seems out of character. I’ll check on that.

On City’s books at 12/13 and slipped through the net? Yet another Bodgers failure Shirley?
