I hate to be difficult, but...

Wheezer

I liked it today. Coady is a brilliant signing. Finally we have 'a presence' in our box, and can find a pass too. Post match interview upbeat, positive, inspirational.
Doyle. The hype was right - this is a player!
Winks - natural class and temperament. Him and Ricky as a partnership? Yes please!
Stately home - slim and fit and positive. Decent contribution throughout.
Vards? - class is the last thing to go. Of course he'll score goals in this division.
Wilf - taking them on, beating them and providing? wtf , but he looks rather good at it.
A likeable Italian manager? - oh, that never works, does it?
This was a practice match. It was sedate, because we are no strangers to crucial injuries to key players in pre-seasons. We practiced ball-keeping which is inevitably going to be a big part of the style. We practiced playing an 'advanced' goal-keeper, we practiced passing through the middle as often as possible. We gave everyone some minutes.
I was expecting everyone and everything still to be under the relegation cloud - but quite the opposite. There was a feel good factor about this. There's life in the old club yet!
Bring it on !!

If that isn't a ringing endorsement of my positivity panacea I don't know what is. Let me know when you need some more Wheezer.

it wasn’t great but it never was going to be. Nobody did anything bad which helps. But for some poor finishing a good save and some blocks we could have had a couple more. That is a sign of the defences we’re going to encounter especially at home. Most will pack the defence which is where we usually come unstuck.

Thus I endorse our need for another striker.

Anyway I enjoyed it, I’m glad I made the effort.

I’m with Wheezer and Daggers. It’s too early to draw any sort of conclusions. Some people slept through many months of Rodgers running our Club into the ground. Why wake up so startled now, two pretty meaningless games into pre-season?

But last term you were prescibing Prozac to treat stage 4 cancer! The drugs don't work

I don’t think the conditions helped yesterday. Very windy which meant any long pass was difficult to get right. Pre season friendlies rarely tell us anything. Biggest thing is to go into the new season fit as a butchers dog and without injury. Let’s see.

That I think is what we would miss if Barnes leaves. Championship sides cannot seem to handle pace and power running at them. I remember when Barnes went out on loan to WBA, he ripped the opposition to shreds that season. Teams just could not handle him.
