Went to watch Bedford Town v Wingate and Finchley.
2-2 … replay midweek. Some lively and neat football and 100% endeavour from both teams. Wingate down to 10 men from the 65th minute. Bedford had all the pressure after that but needed an 84th minute penalty to bring the scores level.
In Charlie Grainger, Wingate have once of the best goalkeepers I’ve seen at this level. Thought the same when he played for Dulwich Hamlet. Made two outstanding saves in the last 15 minutes. Why he’s not playing at a higher level is beyond me … perhaps he doesn’t want to.
