FA Cup replays scrapped

The more I think about it the more I wished the BCC’s had got their way to create the Euro Super league.
In time they probably will.
Problem is without the BCCs or the possibility play them (e.g. in a cup) interest will dwindle in the non-BCCs. Why bother going to a game when you can bingewatch on your telly and talk to all your "mates" about yanited, city, barca, etc... It is going the American sports way, been coming for a while as the money men saw this years ago. Football outside the elite goes like non-league. maybe not a bad thing. We will never see the days of Seville again I am afraid.
Personally no interest. Ended up in a pub last week when the CL was on. Rammed. Afraid Fulham v Leicester does not have the same commercial appeal.

It definitely will!

Those 12 BCC clubs generate 25% of ALL the money in Europe! They want to keep for themselves.

So are they going to alter the corrupt PSR rules, to take into account enforced drops in potential revenue - through losing any chance of a cup replay?

Disgraceful.
They don't give a fuck about how much financially it means to lower league teams.
A plum draw with the possibility of a replay could be a season's revenue for some of those teams.
Not to mention maybe the only chance of these teams ever playing at a big stadium against a top team.

When it is a replay, the small away club takes fans in their numbers as it is a rare opportunity to see their team in a big stadium, was it Yanited v Newport a few years ago? At Liverpool the whole Anfield Road stand sells out to away fans in FA Cup replays, likewise the shed end at Chelsea.

Not sure why I see this but I've just discovered the following statement from Tranmere Rovers in my Facebook timeline:

Tranmere Rovers condemn the disgraceful decision taken by The FA and the Premier League to change the format of the FA Cup, including the scrapping of replays.

There was no consultation with Football League clubs, National League clubs or grassroots clubs to whom the competition represents not only their best opportunity to create life-long memories for supporters but also a hugely important source of income. We also understand that FA Council members were not consulted about the changes.

The decision, and the way it was taken, demonstrate a total lack of respect for the football pyramid and its fans. Football belongs to all of us and decisions should not be taken in back room deals in which only the very wealthiest clubs are allowed to participate. It is yet another eloquent example of the 19th-century governance that means that football simply cannot regulate itself and needs the Independent Football Regulator to have real teeth.

We condemn the changes wholeheartedly and urge The FA to suspend them immediately until all stakeholders in the game are properly consulted.

I wonder if a decent compromise would be to scrap replays from the fifth round onwards. That would give the smaller clubs a chance for a payday at a prem club and let the BCCs avoid overtaxing their precious little things

That's the current position.
Obviously not good enough.
