FA Cup or Top 4 Finish?

Tough one innit....

I'd go for the cup so we can say we've won the lot, although it's not as rare as I thought. (13 teams).

Now we are in the semi-final, with a favourable draw, it’s harder to say Top 4 over FACup, but I would still vote for Top 4, to see a stronger squad with no summer departures lining up to play even better football next season

I read once that we are the only winners of the top division in England who have never won the FA Cup. So perhaps my choice is wrong 🤔

That's right.

We are the biggest club to not win the FA Cup and I'm going to be proper mardy, if we fail at a fifth attempt.

If we take the cup seriously there is no reason while Semi-finals and finals shouldn't be more common for us.
For the last 50 years we have rarely threatened, but with the strength of the club at an all-time high, our ranking makes quarter finals par for the course.
Between 1982- 2014 reaching the quarters was considered an exciting cup run, now though that we have successfully competed against the countries best, we should expect to go deep in the competition.

As old big head himself used to say...are you still making jumpers..... just about 😉but our football team has improved and left Derby and Forest trailing behind 😊

I'm of the generation where the cup meant something. All ticket matches, big crowds & the day of the final itself was always an occasion.
However, with a heavy heart, if it was a straight choice then I would have to say top 4. Simply for player retention, attracting other players & income.
That's a bit sad, because the vast majority of clubs enter just three tournaments with a minimal chance of success in any of them. So to give away a chance of silverware when we're down to the last 4......I've now talked myself out of it, I'll join the both please gang

Being the old romantic, it's the FA Cup for me.

Winning the Cup was always the dream. Winning the First Division/Premier League had never really crossed my mind in any realistic context...so it was always the Cup.

And in lots of ways it still is.

So to hell with the dull pragmatism of top 4 finish at all costs Wengerball.

Put the silver polish on ice, dream of blue & white ribbons adorning the old urn and Wembley here we come.

HUZZAH!

Heart says Cup .Head of course says Top 4 as we will attract/ keep players if in CL .
On balance and after 45 years supporting would say FA Cup please .

FA Cup hands down.

Just like Eggs the league was never a possibility in my eyes.

The Cup was always the elusive one, I still hate the way we are highlighted that "Never won the cup despite the finals" by the pundits.

Yes we bottled last season, we didn't bottle winning the league, we've also played in the champions league.

The cup is the icing on the preverbial cake.

FA Cup

I’m no FA cup romantic, but given you’ve asked the choice between that or top 4, it’s got to be the cup. ‘Top 4’ isn’t winning anything.
The added bonus would be Manchester City NOT winning something, they are coming close to being my most hated club.

From an emotional/historical perspective, it would have to be the cup.

However, from the perspective of cementing our place within the elite group of clubs by building our profile and attracting top players, it has to be top four.

If I were forced to choose, I would pick the latter. Though obviously like everybody else I want both.

Spending more time than I really should reading other fans' forums we seem to carry the flag for most neutrals whenever we play the 'big boys' (a distinction in itself) so were we to get to the final and win we would be very popular all over the country.
And that is worth more than money.
