The point about 1 in 4 women suffering domestic abuse is very vague, I quickly calculated that I know 16 women fairly well, which means 4 of them have suffered domestic abuse, now I haven't asked them but I've never been aware of them being abused. That is not to say the figures are wrong but I am a bit doubtful. Of course since there doesn't seem to be a definition of abuse in your figures it is very hard to decide what is factual

And of course, women are not going to tell you that their husband/boyfriend gave them a slapping last night are they? And maybe your friends are in the 75% who aren't abused. I could get you the full explanation but I'm sure you not that interested. Abuse could of course be mental or other types. I personally believe that 25% is low, but maybe I mix with the wrong people ;-)

You are simply confusing me. You were just going on about flying planes into buildings and terrorism. Is there a lot of that down your way? If they can fly planes they probably don't need to jam onto a rickety boat on an unsafe crossing and now you're asking me about WW2. Your anxiety that everyone you don't personally know is going to kill hundreds of people is unfounded. Someone you know is more likely to be killed by someone else you know and then most likely their husband.
I've known 2 people murdered during my life, both were murdered by their spouses (1 man, 1 woman) both were also cut up and disposal was attempted.

As you highlighted earlier, crossings are expensive so families would likely have to pool resources together to send one person. Who would that be? A single woman who is unlikely to be as strong and able to withstand the conditions of getting to France and crossing the channel, possible be sexually exploited or abused? Or a physically able young male?
Not at all. The blatant racism, particularly from those with multiple logins & is present on this thread, is what should be focused on.

It depends on the background of the people you’re surveying - i.e. in most cases, it should be a true representation of the country’s demographics.
For example, if GB News do a straight Yes / No poll on whether NF is the best candidate to be PM, & 98% say “Yes”, that poll is unrepresentative for so many reasons, & cannot then be trumpeted by GBeebies as “news” or “the nation has spoken”.
