EU rescue package.

I find it odd that so many people seem to be celebrating the destruction of the UK and our way of life. The EU debacle and now the covid nonsense will change our way of life beyond recognition.

That so many seem to relish this happening is, to me, quite astonishing. I have to admit that I thought that the people of this country had rather more about then than has proved to be the case.

I genuinely (and quite wrongly) thought that the government and the people of this country would make an effort, get off its collective arse and, led by an energetic and positive government, work towards building a better and more successful country for everyone outside the EU. I think that was a perfectly possible scenario had we cracked on after the referendum but we made no such effort.

Instead, our government made it quite clear to the EU that they would do everything possible to avoid leaving and would, by and large leave Brussels and Berlin very much in charge. We have had our country steadily dismantled and wrecked by a globalist controlled 'establishment' to suit the EU and their own purposes and the bulk of the British people have not just let it happen, but actually revelled in it.
I'm not revelling in it, the whole thing is turning out to be a complete disaster. People are going to be a lot worse off because of it, industries will be decimated, thousands will lose their jobs. People were lied to and those that predicted the mess were ridiculedand told it was Project Fear and we'd had enough of experts.

Ress-Mogg and the likes will be richer from it, they wanted no-deal all along so that's why the Govy haven't tried to get us any deals.

Of course no they're starting to blaime the Remainers and the EU, and people are sucking it up as usual.

I'll be OK but I feel for those who are going to lose their livelihoods.

I'm thinking about banning when people like things, but ain't got the cajones to get involved in the debate. What do you PollyAnnas who send bleating messages to the moderators think of that?

I have to agree with you, but watching the debates in Parliament it soon became clear that people did not believe in there own country. This is not about a trade deal but a way to give away control, The EU Takes 70% of our fish and Billions of our pounds, tells us who we can trade with and on what terms, we import 100 Billion pounds worth of goods more than we export to them. I believe after leaving the EU we would flourish and start trading with the growing economies of the world rather than this protective block. what are people scared of? We have one of the biggest economies in the world walk away and they will come running you see.

Fair enough, but others clearly are.

Brexit has turned into a clusterfuck right enough, though my view is that this has been deliberately engineered by the government, civil service and the rest of the establishment to keep us tied to the EU.

Watch the 'deal' that unfolds over the next few weeks, they will 'sell' it as Brexit, but it will be nothing of the sort, we will still be paying contributions, controlled by the ECJ and looted blind.

Rees-Mogg is a businessman, in a moving economic situation you adjust your position to protect the interests of your shareholders and investors.

The research that I do keeps coming up with the great reset, which I did not believe in. If there is something in it then we wont be allowed to leave except in name only. It has made me realise that we as the people do not really have a say in what happens and that could be scary.

Rees-Mogg was also very vocally pro a very hard Brexit from which he and his pals stand to make a lot of money.

But what is the requirement from the negotiation? Do we want a deal which will inevitably lead to compromise or a fuck you attitude where we go off and do our own thing?

To be treated as a independent country, make our own laws and standards. Take back control of borders and waters. If there is a tariff on goods so what? we will make 3 Billion a year on imports. We only export 13% to the EU and will find new markets with the rest of the world. We have many good things about this country. This just give us far more choice not less choice.

What laws and standards?

Tariffs on goods will mean an increase in price so why would they buy from us?

It may 'only' be 13% but we're going to struggle to replace that. If we want to continue to trade we will still need to work to their standards.

we already work to there standards, Our laws not held to account by the EU if we want to support a British industry. our laws to who enters our waters. our laws on immigration, in effect what a normal independent country does. you tried there way for forty years now try what the people voted for.

You mean the CU and SM like Farage promised we would stay in?

Rees-Mogg is a businessman, he will do whatever he can to make money.

He is very high profile and would work within the law.

Also, I do not recall Farage ever being in Government, he has a right to a view like anyone else, you are free to take it or leave it.

I would love that to be the case but the last 4-5 years have shown that we have no-one capable or even interested in implementing such a policy and energising the country. We have been fucked, good and proper. The covid scam is simply the coup de grace.

Oh okay . It must all have been true . sorry. I’m sure Nigel Farage , Arron Banks. Michael Gove , Boris Johnson , Mogg etc . only had the best interests of working people at heart
Not that anybody told lies on the remain side......

On topic, how does it affect the UK?

Some of us live in the EU. And are keeping a close eye on Hungary and Poland's games.
