Enzo’s biggest short term problem

Not only is he coming into a new club with a new team of assistants but right now the planning for the championship must be very difficult. He has no idea who is staying. There are obvious ones I’d suggest - Vestergaard etc but every one from Barnes to Castagne, Nacho, Ndidi, Soumare, Castagne, Justin, Faes, Thomas and Praet could go. None could go, (I doubt that v much), some or pretty much all. There are still 7 weeks of the window left and we’ll have played 4 league games before we’ll know for sure who we’ve got. It’ll be the last min rush which as we know more than most could potentially change our season.

Of that list above the only one I’d really like to stay is Barnes. We’ve a big advantage here compared with the Maddison transfer. We must play hard ball if indeed he’s going. I’d suggest though he wants to stay as he’s a Leicester boy plus he’s got 2 years left on his contract. Instead of transferring him permanently could we not send him out on a 1 year loan with no buy, gambling on an immediate return. I know that happens in Europe but does it ever happen here if a side has gone down?

I wish Enzo well and I’m a damn more confident with him than our two relegated rivals new managers. We must give him time especially in those first 10-15 matches.

If he's not being sold to help balance the books then surely he stays and plays.

Barnes is offski - fortunately there is more competition for him than there was for Maddison so we should get a decent market price (whatever that means in football finance terms).

I’d keep Nacho, Justin and Faes of those you mention. We should be able to get a few bob/euros for the rest.

“Give him time”?!? If we don’t beat Cov the knives will be out!

If C** beat us I fear Hackney and Glos will be sending the boys round to Enzo’s

It's personal with co*, we lose and Glos and I will go round on our own.
Glos will sit on him while I lecture him about ULEZ and electric cars.
They should be more worried about the fact that our ex-submariner has the geographical co-ordinates of the Reek-oh (or whatever it’s called these days) Stadium. Always a good yarn from the man with the extensive florid short collection 😁

Perhaps the manager of the Club has a better idea of who's staying and going than a bunch of cunts on a message-board? Just a thought...
I heard that he has someone lurking on the board 24*7 to educate him on the ways of Leicester City. Apparently in the interview when Enzo was asked asked what he thought was Rodgers biggest mistake he cited "not reading the Bentleys Roof site often enough or heeding the advice proffered by the exerts of the football forum". He did lose points for not also referencing the Bentleys Spoof forum as a key source of information of all things worldly.

Hope Enzo understands "Lump On" is not a request to re-sign and start Steve Howard.

It's not that complicated.
anybody who's out of contract he doesn't have to worry about.
anybody who is under contract he can get rid of or keep, unless those above him say a 'keep' player has to be sold for FFP.
i think there's now only a few saleable assets that are worth keeping.
So it's up to him and his team, who i'll give the benefit of the doubt at least until we're 10-12 games in.

Castagne might leave us twice?

If Barnes has just two years left on his contract we should be discussing an extension with him. I k ow that’s tricky given the league we’re in but if he doesn’t want to sign we should keep in mind his fee next summer with just a year left will be affected.

I always advocate a win in the first game of the season as it starts to give the players confidence. If we could somehow beat Cov first up I’ll be absolutely delighted. I’m not however under estimating the size of that task when you weigh up all the factors.

Cov have about 10 players at the min, in a far worse position than us, I would fully expect a win against them

I'm sure the manager has had a quiet word with all the players individually to see if they want to be at LCFC or are their representatives in talks for a move elsewhere.
The gaffer can then look at the names in the Green book to see how his starting line up is shaping up. The names in the Red book, he can decide if any of them have a future at the KP. When most of this is decided he can hopefully add to the squad before the transfer window shuts.

It's been said on the Roof many a time, it is very difficult to get players out of the door who do not fit into your plans if they are on top wages.

Now Swabian has paraphrased Derek and Clive, not sure how anyone could spot that TopFox had. Which album is it from? 😏

I kinda thought that Enzo came on here. When at a recent press conference he was asked a question about the club finances but he did not know the answer. He did request some information back from the same reporter, what is a winter fuel allowance that I keep reading about.

So with Callum Doyle on his way in, are we to assume he’s going to play 3 at the back? Also it means Evans has surely now gone ( I’d have had him for another year as back up) and Vestergaard must go one way or the other.
By the way is he related to Mike Doyle?

Dont think so. You may be mistaking him for Tommy Doyle who is also at Man City and who is the grandson of Mike Doyle on one side and Glyn Pardoe on the other.

Oh thanks. That makes sense. So there’s two Doyle’s at Man City. Let’s hope we’re getting the right one

The other one was on loan at Sheff Utd all last season. We're getting the Cov one. You tell me which one is probably the better of the two!!
