Empty stadium and its effects

I'm just thinking what the continued playing in empty stadia will do to team dynamics, and what other side effects this will have.

For starters, it will weaken the bond between fans and teams. The teams won't notice whether their performances are appreciated or, vice versa, not considered good enough. Some players thrive and improve on crowd appreciation, others perhaps less so. One or two things might become more dependent how well the team and the club functions on its own, without the fans. Popular players won't notice if they're popular, and vice versa.

Equally the absence of opposition fans. Jamie Vardy, for instance, has spoken about how much he thrives on opposition fans booing him. On others on the other hand, it might have a liberating effect! I think we're already seeing that home advantage is becoming much less important than it used to!

Maybe this will bring about a few surprises on its own but in the long run the weakened bond between teams and fans is not a good thing I think!

No, that's not what I meant, Soho.

I was just thinking aloud what the ban will do to teams and fans and their relation to each other, and I didn't want to weigh in against the lethal effects of Covid-19 which I take very seriously.

Sorry for being a bit unclear about this!!
