Edouard.

Involved in 12 goals in 15 games and that’s him having a poor season. He’s younger and taller than Ollie Watkins and probably available for less than half the price.
Scores for fun in the French u23s.
If we can get him for £15m then IMO it’s a risk well worth taking. We can still get a few million back offloading Iheanacho.
I think it will take £25m to get him this window, still think it's worth it.

Don't say cause no one wants him, there's clubs that would bite ur hand off to have him on their books.
You beat me to it. No-one wants him. But do enlighten us as to which clubs are so keen to sign him that they've seemingly made no attempt whatsoever to do so? Remember, any player or agent would dearly, dearly love to appear in demand, simply as a lever for more £s, which is why half the endless transfer rumours are started by someone or other.

If clubs wanted him – particularly in this world run by agents – there would be zero hesitation in them making enquiries, starting rumours, asking Bert to start tweeting, etc etc etc. But not a squeak. Which is what underwhelming performances and £60k a week does.
(A couple of articles in The Athletic (which is usually a cut above the usual journo bollocks) made clear that he was discreetly offered by City to a couple of clubs (including, as I recall, SOTV) in summer 2019 – again, done in a quiet way by the club so as not to undermine any residual value which might be realised by some unsuspecting Owner offering over the going rate. No thank you, must've been the reply.

If it was for around the 15 mil mark then I’d have to agree it may be a risk worth taking.
I just thought figures of between 25-30 mil had been mentioned.

I don't think he is for sale since brenda has come in, I would rather have Iheanacho than slimani, don't forget he was highly rated by man City, so much so they want first refusal but like I say he's not for sale.

Well he isn't destined for a transfer to another club anytime soon or even a loan, what does that tell you?
When have the club ever leaked their transfer dealing?
It closes on Feb 1st so not as if we're mere hours away with no rumours off him leaving.

So highly rated that they sold him extra-sharpish!
Choosing between Nacho and Slim is an unenviable task, no? The old 'barrel of snot and bucket of sick' quandary comes to mind...
I for one am convinced that eventually Pep – or whoever it was at Man City that dreamt up that wonderful trick – won't be able to resist admitting that it was a deliberate ploy in an autobiography or somewhere.

Celtic fan on FT, reckons he's off at the end of the season, out of contract in 2022 and they won't want him running his contract down, and they'd be happy to get the money now. Reckons any paper printing £30m is talking bollocks. Think he reckons they'd snap our hands off for £20m and would probaly go down to £15m.
We haven't got a great record with signing strikers since Vardy. We can't and won't attract the £60m type we need. Manager knows him and he won't be wanting a stupid wage either.

Are you funding the transfer then?
That old chestnut 🙄
Does not wasting amounts of 25/30 mil on the likes of inheacho & slimani effect the possible transfer activity we can get involved in 6-12 months down the line when we realise we’ve blown a huge amount of money on dross?

Couldn't care less. It has nothing to do with me. Write to club and complain

Celtic fan on FT when asked his style of play:
Ok, take this with a dose of salt, I'm not saying he is as good or ever will be anywhere close to as good but his style is a lot like Thierry Henry's was. He plays as a central striker but naturally drifts left and is effective at both picking the ball up from this position and runnng at defenders and running in behind. He has the same languid, nonchalant style as well that sometimes can be mistaken for looking as if he can't be arsed
lol

he's got a great first touch and physically is big and strong. There is a bit of work to do in building him back up though as I think covid hit him hard as he looks visibly very much thinner than last season and I think that has had an effect on his form this season, along with our general shityness of course. He really didn't have any weight to lose as well.
This time last year every Celtic fan in the land would have told you Edouard had exceeded how good Dembele was and the latter was and still is an absolute hero among Celtic fans. Whether that's true or not you can debate but I wouldn't read too much into his form this season due to several reasons I've said on here before. You don't become a bad player overnight and the Edouard at Celtic and France U21's in the main has been breathtaking.

Currently on under 10K a week.

Just to prove he knows what he's talking about;) his reply when someone mentioned a swap for Iheanacho
I wouldn't want him anywhere near Celtic park, ever. I struggle to ever see anything he is actually effective at other than disappearing like a ghost.
I know Scottish football is crap but plenty of players from down south have came up and struggled and he has this written all over him.
A lot of people told me on here Andy King would be like Zidane in the SPFL and he couldn't make Rangers bench.
The standard is crap but it's so blood and thunder that a lot of players who have done well in England struggle.
He has the heart of a mouse,
Football is all about opinions and I respect yours but I don't agree with it at all, I've seen a lot of him and the guy is mince, no gold plating of him will convince me otherwise.

Its also musa, silva and ghezzal to name 3,thats why it's best to stick wiv nacho and improve him rather than chuck money away.

Perhaps we're chucking money away by paying him £2m a year.
Always thought he had something and eventually it would show. Run out of patience, he stumbles over the ball more times than he controls it.
He can't replace Vardy because that isn't his role and we don't play with two up front.
He'd be better off somewhere that will play to his strengths.

He's logged into bentleys roof and seen all the negative comments, I think my confidence would be shot, he's got 18 mths left on his contract.

Come on then own up, who were the ones who bigged the ultimate hider Andy King up?

Foxes Talk
He is a legend, League One, Championship and Premier winner, club's highest scoring midfielder, played 379 appearances and 62* goals.
Scored some very important goals.

All that and I'm still not a huge fan. No surprise sitting next to Glos though.

* 38 of them 2008-20011.
Had that period under Pearson and Sven where he scored about 1 in 4 games. After that it's around 1 in 10.
