Doyle injured..

He pulled not long into the game, just in front of us. A fair bit of the 1st half he definitely didn’t look comfortable.
 
Yes around 10 mins in. Did keeping him on exacerbate the problem? Let’s hope not and please not an ACL

We have one data point to work from :)

He said post match that he hadn't been at the club for a long time (still getting lost walking around the stadium). He joined mid June, so 3 months.

If his definition of a short time is 3 months, then by my foolproof analysis I confidently predict Doyle is out for 6+ months. Sadly.

They don't know exactly, and Maresca said so. My best guess therefore is at least several months, i.e. three or more. Of course, it could be more also.

That's what he said, according to the Merc:
They are doing some checks. They just said to me that it could be a long time but we don’t know exactly the injury and the time.

If it is going to be a long, long time (6 months or so) then he may as well go back to Chelsea, as he will be little use to us this season.
 
New defence but apparently JJ was poor.
In The Athletic piece about Wink’s passing it mentions just how many forward passes Doyle makes.
Think we may miss him more than we thought.
 
12-16 weeks out. So best case for a return is early Jan, worst case late Jan. It could be worse I suppose.
