Do priests and vicars etc

Spread false information?
Imagine telling folk that an imaginary person made the earth in 7 days and if you don’t do as he says then you are going to a place that you will burn for eternity while shaking a money box at you.
Madness innit.
It's a belief. I like people having the freedom to believe stuff.
No need to punish anyone or have their right to free speech infringed.

Here’s my take on religion.

In small local groups, churches etc it brings like minded people together. Football and other sports do the same for me as does going down to the pub. There’s nothing at all wrong with that in my eyes.

On a global scale religion divides people. Created wars and conflict. Which makes me wonder why so many decent people choose religion.

in a similar vein.
if people want to go to church/temple or whatever and pay homage to some entity that's none of my business.
when they bring it out of the church and legislate those beliefs for all is when i have a problem.
i don't take my football into their church and start kicking it around and breaking the valuables.

Really? You don’t think a whole host of laws that we all have to abide by derived from or are a direct result of religion?

Well, you can make a case for example that the 6th commandment 'thou shall not kill' has been enshrined into law, but you can also make the case that even if it didn't exist that not murdering people is also a sensible idea that should be a law. No?
Ancient primitive tribes had laws that punished the taking of a life and predate organized religion (if that's what you're referring to) by thousands of years.

Yeah true, but I’m talking about other laws that potentially limit what people can do or act, maybe on a Sunday. Which have relaxed over the years but still stem from a religion (whether those laws are good or bad are irrelevant)
Tax exemptions for some of the richest bodies in the world. Don’t think that happened my accident.
Tax havens can be traced back to the Crusades, another fine body of people exploiting everyone and everything for their own gain based on doing the work of an imaginary person.

I imagine all them slave traders felt the same when the abolitionists started trying to combine their faith with law.

of course. historically, a lot of laws that stem from the middle ages were put in place to protect or enrich the church or the monarchy who held the power, where the common people had no say in because there wasn't universal suffrage which should be overturned.
The religious nutters still want to legislate their faith and that should be stopped before it happens

Which things are you objecting to in particular?

Which ones do you think i should object to?
It's not up to me what you object to.
You wrote this: 'The religious nutters still want to legislate their faith and that should be stopped before it happens.'
Can you give me examples of what they want to legislate and what you want to stop?

i thought i'd answer a question with a question like you chaps do.

Don’t expect anything verging in an opinion from the carer .
Here's my opinion. I was trying to help people.
Meanwhile, some shithead ratted me out.
I'm not always right as can be, but I got a sneaky suspicion that that shithead was you.
Care to tell me I'm wrong?
