David Moyes NOW Available for when

He'll be available as a fireman when an established PL club has a bad first third of next season.

I remain surprised that Potter is still out of work - now the shine has worn off de Zerbi a bit, Potter's body of work at Brighton is looking rather stronger. Of course, a number of "stars" were sold from under de Zerbi, but still......

I thought it was Fireman Sam?

What's so bad about Moyes?

Genuine question because I always thought he was a decent (but not great) manager who's done well at both Everton and West Ham. His stats speak for itself even though he had a few bummers in between.

They sold a few under Potter too, during whose time they had a lot less money to buy with.

Don't disagree at all.

But, at this stage in his career, I think he will struggle to get another similar job in the summer, if indeed he seeks one

He’s old school and is a long way behind the modern way of playing. He’s been a great manager especially at Everton but his good days are now a distant memory

Potter is rumoured to be going to Feyenoord when Slot buggers off to Liverpool.

Swabian, a friend is a West Ham season ticket holder and he hates Moyes with a passion. When I ask him why the reasons he gives are all the reasons why we hated Rodgers. Slow football. Not picking the right players. Not getting the best out of a group of players. Saying the same each week when interviewed post game.

When I counter the fact they have won a trophy he laughs. He’s happy to have finally won a trophy but he feels they should have done better.

I think the bad thing about Rodgers wasn't so much the footballing style but rather his character: the unwillingness to take responsibility for things going wrong, falling out with several players, the unwillingness to change his methods or learn from mistakes, always putting himself first, incessant waffle, supplying his cronies with posts and so on. Eventually he lost the dressing room, and poor football was rather a consequence than a cause I think. And he left Leicester City in a far worse state than he found it in! But that's been done to death anyway!

Moyes had a couple of very complimentary articles on the BBC website, including one from a West Ham supporter. It's likely his third top-ten finish in four and a half seasons. That has not been achieved since Harry Redknapp over twenty years ago. He won a European title (and they were in another European semi-final the year before, losing to the eventual winners). Granted, this season is not going well but they lost Declan Rice and they're still in a good position to achieve a top ten finish.

Maybe his tenure has run its course, and I don't know anything about the inner state of West Ham, but from the outside it looks like Moyes knows what he's doing, and he has the results to show for it. There are far, far worse managers in the top leagues who steal a living, to be honest.

Whether he'd be a good fit for Leicester City I don't know. It's hypothetical (and we still have a manager!!) but I think he'd be a safe pair of hands and he'd keep us up. Somehow I don't think our board would appoint an over 60 year-old though, even if the opportunity arose.

Exactly. We are looking to the future and I think we have a big boss of the next few years
Our problem is that we will face retaining him.
