Coloured people. People of colour.

So if some old coffin dodger refers to them as coloured because that's what they grew up to call them but hasn't a racist bone in their body it's wrong and should lose their job.
But referring to them as blacks and saying they should go back to their own country is ok.
Words are nothing. It's in the intent that they are used.

What he said was a clear example of how out of touch these dinosaurs are. These are the people making decisions that affect thousands of people.

Instead of taking umbrage and getting all defensive, maybe have a think about why people find some things offensive. Don't just fold your arms and tell yourself you've always used a term so it's OK to carry on using it and people can just put up with it. And it's nothing to do with freedom of speech so bringing that old chestnut into it and trying to associate it with today of all days is a diversion from the point.

Everything is offensive to someone, calling people dinosaurs because they don't see the world the way you do is offensive. What ever happened to tolerance and understanding?
Facts are still facts even if you think they're offensive

I still feel that labels divide us rather than solve any problems, I admit to being a Dinosaur and come from a time of Jocks. taffys and paddys but it was never offensive just friendly banter. I have blond hair, pink skin and blue eyes surly that make me a person of colour ?

Admit it, you’re ginger, aren’t you?

"People that are offended by people being reasonable, really offends me"

But is it real offence or just faux outrage because you were once over looked in the scramble to be tuck shop monitor?

There you go again, make out I'm going to say something then go on and tell me how wrong it is to say something I haven't said.
It's got fuck all to do with freedom of speech but everything to do with what terms they use which are normal to them (as long as those terms are not used to belittle offend embarrass anyone)
There are obvious words that fall into those categories and there's no excuse for but the term coloured has been used with no offence given or taken for a long time. In fact I can remember when the term black was considered offence.
Fuck sake, snowflakes need to get up off your knee and start embracing everyone as equal regardless of colour (or is the term blackness best used now) and culture.

It's not all about you Dickie, the freedom of speech was referring to a post a couple below yours. Can't be arsed to quote them all.

And you'll find it's the "snowflakes" taking the knee that are the ones accepting equality. It's the ones who take umbrage at any sort of challenge to their privilege and comfort who are the snowflakes as they can't bear their position being challenged because people dare to want to be treated equally.

When all said and done, if we caucasians are to be classified “white”, and “black is offensive, what can possibly be wrong with “coloured”?

Not seen a black guy take a knee for a white guy and I wouldn't expect him to coz I view him as equal. No better or worse.
