Census 2021

Back to the point of the thread. Anyone who believes that the Census is some sort of conspiracy, is a cycle-path.

The census will be be pointless, in many cases it will simply not be filled in which the government will be fine with.

Keep the numbers low, they do not want the real numbers to be known as it would show a rapid population growth that we have no possible way of sustaining. The supermarkets suggested a 'real' population in excess of 80 million (based on sales) and that was more than 10 years ago.

At least 80M records on NHS registers

Dorset old boy - if you could just give the government a break down of that 80 million (should be easy enough - just check the Nectar/Tesco points and see what people bought) it would save a lot of pfaffing around with questionnaires and envelopes. Might also allow conspiracy theorists a day off. Goodness knows they need/deserve one.

Back to the more important topic on the thread - bikes in wheelie bins - just thank yer lucky stars it wasn't a tandem.

Don't ask me Eggs, ask the supermarkets, the energy companies, the water companies, they actually do have the figures.

The implications are huge, take public spending, funding the NHS to serve 68 million is a lot cheaper than funding for 88 million (I reckon the population is at least that), same with roads. public transport, police etc. All public services are struggling and this is one of the reasons why.

Where do you get your current figure of 88M+ from? It doesn't sound very plausible. Even if you allow the 80M figure (which itself was not plausible when it was - well, let's say floated), it's hard to see how you could add 8M over 10 years or so without it being pretty obvious.

I think the austerity measures didn't help.
There was no Austerity, look at borrowing over the last 10 years, money was being spent in huge quantities. The Tories tried to con their supporters with talk of it, but in reality it never happened.

The 88 million is my estimate from what I see. Substantial net immigration, freedom of movement and a substantial rise in birthrates, I do not think that 8 - 10 million over the last 10 years is unrealistic at all.

I think it is pretty obvious though, well it is to me. We moved back into west London around 2008, the change in the 10 years up to us leaving in 2018 was enormous and really obvious and this was in prosperous areas like Chiswick and Kew.

Traffic levels increased hugely, public transport too. Massive building of new homes, rents went through the roof etc and Mrs AFC's surgery was required to take many more patients. It was really noticeable, obvious in fact.
